The magnificent Palais des Papes dominates Avignon's walled centre, where you can tour grand papal apartments and climb the towers for city views. Cross the famous Pont d'Avignon for a perfect photo spot, then explore the city's excellent museums and lively cafés in Place de l'Horloge.
Truly an exceptional place. The house and our room (Naples) was like a dream. Even in winter where the outdoor facilities (pool etc) are not usable, there's nothing negative to say. It was worth the expense.

Absolutely breathtaking property, tucked away in the bustling city of Avignon. From the moment we arrived, Jean-Luc and Valérie were incredibly welcoming and couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable.
We had the best night's sleep we've had in ages – the bed was so comfortable, and the whole house is full of charm and character. We absolutely loved our (far too short!) stay and only wished we could have stayed longer.
We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll be booking for much...

The online reviews swayed us to stay in this beautiful hotel. Initially we were a little reluctant because it is over the river from the main town of Avignon. We were only staying for one night before continuing our journey to Antibes and we didn't want too much hassle the following morning to get to the train station. It is a short walk to the bus stop and the local bus takes less than 10 mins to take you into the centre of Avignon.
We were not disappointed at all and after an evening meal...

Amazing hotel, perfectly located, friendly staff. Breakfast options could be better and service at the pool was poor but it was due to short staffed. We will come back!

The hotel Garlande is a great little hotel in the heart of Avignon. It is set in a cobbled backstreet close to the Papal Palace. The rooms are nice (we had a 3rd floor family room). It oozes charm and is quaint (we had to climb a spiral staircase to our room). The people running the hotel are amazing and are what makes this a place to defiantly visit. From discussing restaurants (and booking them for us) to advising on Provence places to visit, they couldn't do enough. The breakfasts were great,...

My wife and I spent 5 nights here after our wedding and it was everything we wanted and needed and so much more. Relaxing, peaceful, serenity.
Jean-Baptiste (the manager) and his staff could not be more accommodating or charming if they tried. The room - very comfortable, clean and stylish with a Bluetooth speaker, big rain shower and robes, views were incredible to wake up and have your morning coffee in bed too. Pool was exactly as it looked in the photos, large, clean, panoramic views of...
