"The staff and location were great, but my room had an ant problem in the bathroom and the sheets felt clean but were stained. They gave me a late check out and held my bags for an hour, so that was nice, but unfortunately room 204 did not feel worth the price. The groubds are nice though"
"We really enjoyed our stay at Cape Weligama Hotel. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were taken by buggy to our amazing room overlooking the garden. It was spacious and so was the bathroom.
A short walk to the dining room for dinner and breakfast and we enjoyed being able to sit outside on the terrace for both.
My husband went on a nature walk with a ranger around the property and was shown different plants and birds which he really enjoyed.
In summary, we really enjoyed our stay here and can really recommend it."
"This was a disappointing stay. When it rained water pools in under the balcony door and several drips appeared in the ceiling. The resulting drips caused damage to some of my belongings, you just wouldn’t expect damage like that when paying so much for a room.
I booked the stay as a treat but feel that the room wasn't worth anything like the price. I do feel quite cheated. I’m sure it’s great when it’s dry here but I spent my stay with towels soaking up the flooding around the edges of the room. It somewhat destroyed the zen I was seeking.
I wrote to management as the staff on site didn’t seem to care much. But no reply, apology or concession. A real shame."
"Hotel felt dated and neglected. The breakfast was cold and inedible, so we ate out each morning. However, we felt it would have been pointless telling the staff as they seemed uninterested and like they had their spirit broken. The room was dirty and sheet were stained, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It needs shutdown and given a deep deep deep clean then remodelled. I suspect the owner or manager need to try and build up their staffs morale as the staff were so unhappy it felt awkward. "
"Really disappointing stay here. We booked the standard room which, based off the photos, looks like it has a window in the bathroom looking onto greenery. This isn't the case, instead the window is dirty and covered so there's no natural light or ventilation. The bathroom as a result is damp (which they've clearly painted over), moulding, and the shower tray is taped together. The bedroom felt like a cave it was so dark and depressing. The bed was large and comfortable, but the sheets were stained and had a bad smell to them, and we also noticed chewing gum stuck to the headboard.
The rooftop pictures are also misleading and clearly old, as it is in need of renovations up there. Based on this I can only assume the other rooms are a similar standard.
As for the co-living, this was simply a cafe and, in our experience, a loud karaoke event (which you can hear throughout the accommodation, even if you'd prefer not to). We stayed for 8 nights and this was the only event we know of (if there were others, there is no information shared about them).
The only redeeming points are the staff are friendly and the wifi worked. There are much better co-working places to stay in Weligama at much cheaper prices, so we would avoid here."
