The place is a total dump!!! All of the doors have key pad locks that barely work, the "Double Queen Suite" was basically 2 dorm rooms with no place to sit except outside! No Wi-fi. The place was freezing with only an ancient heater and a wall space heater. The tub had standing water in it for 3 hours after taking a quick shower. The place is dirty and run down. We wouldn't have felt safe staying there if it hadn't been in the middle of no where. Old folks seemed to like staying there for some reason. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they were homeless, then this place might seem ok.

Perfect hotel for me, my partner, and dog! Other hotels and airbnbs in the area were extra expensive and/or not pet-friendly due to LDW, and we didn’t want to spend $1,000+ for just a 3-night stay. If you’re looking for a hotel that’s affordable, perfectly located, has a lot of outdoor activities, very dog friendly, and a midwest/vintage charm, Sun & Sand is a great choice. While the rooms are a bit outdated, they were clean and well-kept. The bathroom was especially clean. Some of these reviews scared us, so we brought our own bedding just in case the rooms were as bad as some people said. They were not bad at all. The hotel bedding was also fine — clean and fresh. The room was also not “super small.” It was the perfect size for the three of us, one suitcase, duffle bag, and 2 totes. The only con was that the plumbing in the shower was a bit clogged so the water took a very long time to drain. The mattress was also a bit too soft for our liking, but we slept well. We also enjoyed how family friendly the hotel was. Lots of people outside grilling, laying by the pool, playing corn hole or just relaxing. Great vibes overall!

We really enjoyed our stay. The grounds of the resort are beautiful. The room had a cute cottage feel. It was clean and comfortable. We would definitely come back!

Terrible! Very dated electric heater on wall, which would never pass OSHA standards. No elevator. Keypad on the outside of room had no numbers. I paid for two nights and we left and stayed in another hotel. Totally unacceptable.

Disappointing

The unit was very small. The two beds were pushed up against the walls. The mattress quality was so poor that I sunk in the bed. There was no dresser or drawers to unpack anything, only a small closet. We put the suitcases on a couple of wood chairs in the room . The bathroom had a pedestal sink and the only space to put a makeup bag was on the back of the toilet. Although the unit was painted and clean, that could not make up for the lack of places to put things and the awful mattress. The pool was clean. There were fire pits and a volleyball net and Cornhole. Overall, it was disappointing and I do not recommend this place .

Patsy was great at checking us in & out! Super friendly! Loved there were firepits & they provide the wood at no cost! Even gave us some firestarter for quicker fire & it worked sooo well! Will definitely be back next year!

The pool, deck and property are the best features. Pool was heated and clean. Towels and pool toys are provided. Nice lounge chairs, tables with umbrellas & chairs. Grounds are beautiful with a pond and waterfall. We saw deer each morning grazing. Corn hole, a volleyball net, and fire pits with chairs were placed on the grass. It really is a nice piece of land with trees along the back, so you don’t see any other buildings. The rooms are very small and all of the buildings desperately need to be renovated, at the very least thoroughly cleaned. Food from the previous guests was under the sink. Cobwebs, chipped counters, rust, uneven floors, and a musty smell throughout. Condensation on the inside of the windows. The three beds were made with sheets and pillows. As for blankets; one bed had a comforter, one had a small throw, and the third didn’t have a blanket. Beds were semi-comfortable, but that is always subjective. Bathrooms were as clean as possible with towels provided, and warm water was instantaneous. Kitchenette had a microwave, sink, and coffee maker; with coffee provided. We brought our French Press, so we didn’t use the coffee maker. No utensils or dinnerware provided. TVs in both bedrooms with cable; however, no instructions to run either, and there was two remotes for each TV. What appeared to be fake TV fireplaces above the sinks, but we didn’t turn them on. The staff was very casual but pleasant upon check-in and check-out. Located close to town and amenities.
