The Royal Victoria Hotel

"We spent two nights in the Coach House in early July and found it clean and comfortable. Our room was accessible by a relatively steep and narrow set of stairs, which was fine for us but could be an issue for travelers with mobility issues or a lot of luggage. There is no air conditioning but a fan was provided (though given then outlet locations, we weren't able to position it in a very helpful location). The location of the hotel is great and we were able to walk to the bus stop to take the bus to the Pen y Pass trailhead, and then back down the Llanberis Path directly to the hotel. Breakfast was nice and included a good selection of hot and cold items (eggs, hash browns, toast, fruit, cereal, etc.) and beverages. We enjoyed afternoon snacks, drinks and dinner in the bar area and picnic tables outside. There weren't many places open for a late lunch or early dinner in town so we spent most of our free time at the hotel. The demographic while we were there was a bit strange - lots of elderly folks who appeared to be part of a tour group. Not sure if that's typical, but it made it feel a little like we were staying in a retirement home."

St George's Hotel

"Old established hotel on the sea front. Great location. Staff very helpful Room was fine, comfy bed, large bathroom Car park was a scramble, pre-book if you can, as it's not big enough for the number of rooms in the hotel. Negative- breakfast, first morning everything was over cooked, burnt sausage, dry bacon, dry hash brown, over cooked eggs. OK for cereal and fruit and all the usual non cooked items. Disappointing for a 4 star hotel. It did improve slightly on the 2nd morning."

The Seafront Hotel by Compass Hospitality

"As I'm unable to walk upstairs, I was grateful that there was lifts to my room, but it was different outside the hotel, it's not accessible, the bedroom was a bit small for 2 single beds, and not much of a view as my room was at the back of the hotel."

The Management Centre
10/10 Excellent
"Upon arrival we were greeted by reception staff and they were very polite and friendly. They gave us all the information we needed and showed us to our room. The room was neat and tidy and was adequate for our needs. Alex in the 1885 bar was very polite and friendly too. Going into breakfast next morning was lovely. We we were greeted by Lorraine and asked if we would like to a window table. She explained everything in detail and the breakfast menu was superb whither fresh fruit and yogurts and a great selection for breakfast. The poached eggs were perfect but we have to give a special mention for the chef Mick who made the most superb overnight oats with a selection of fruits and almonds it was delicious. Would we stay again, most certainly. Well done everyone for making our stay most enjoyable."

"Room was clean nice sea view apart from some scaffolding which we weren’t made aware of on booking but got a bar credit to compensate. Buffet breakfast spot on, would go again when prices are lower."

"I reported to the front desk that when I returned from being out, I noted my room door was closed but not locked. I always check after I've locked the door, so I know it was locked when I left. He said he would speak to the cleaner about it (who comes in late morning to empty the bin etc). It happened again another day and I reported it again and explained that when you close the door you must pull it tight (and you hear it click) and then lock with the key, otherwise "locking it" with the key does not actually lock it. He said he would look into it. Sadly it happened again another day. This was very disappointing. The front desk man apologised profusely, he was a nice person and very helpful generally. Apart from that issue, it was a pleasant stay and the hotel was in an excellent location, close to everything and right on the seafront. This is not a "modern" shiny spic-and-span hotel - most of the hotels along the promenade look fairly long in years, but it was clean and everything worked and it was quiet (apart from the seagulls doing their early morning rounds!) and so lovely to be directly across the road from the seafront."
