"We enjoyed everything about the hotel; friendly staff, convenient location, clean n big room except for 2 things : - the toilet is not enclosed ie it has no door. My husband and I had to take turn to leave the room when we want to use it. - the hotel did a fantastic job to notify us about options of parking. It was quite a task to drag our luggage up and down from the car park to the hotel along the cobblestone road. The hotel could have offered portal service to their guests especially for elderly guests"

"Exceptional service and charming room. Great location. Breakfast was okay (nothing special, but not awful). We would gladly return. Matera exceeded our expectations. We recommend d the burrata at Casal, and convivial and lopa. The cinema room at lopa is a fun and memorable experience!"

"Breakfast was limited : to cheese and more cheese , cookies and cakes ie fat and sugar There was a small plate offerings of ham and salami , some hard boiled eggs, pieces of pizza, bread , croissants, picked peppers, limited juices (2) that kept running out apples oranges , yoghurt and coffee Oh and pieces of pizza dough covered in oil and granulated sugar! If you had Diabetes and high cholesterol there was nothing for you. Rooms were really nice , beds comfy with cozy comforters. Front desk always seemed stressed, answering minimally . I was referred to the info office a few doors away which was found to be CLOSED with a big sign on its door and I feel Hotel should have known this and not sent me there for an inquiry they should have been able to answer about this small locale. Otherwise It was good. "

"The hotel is incredible and the staff is as well. We absolutely loved our stay. It was truly a unique experience. However, guests should know that because the hotel is literally incorporated into the caves, it can be physically demanding climbing all the stone stairs. People with mobility issues will definitely struggle at this hotel"

"If you’re looking for the cave experience this place is great, the room was very nice all renovated and very comfortable. A lot of steps but that’s Matera and close to dinning and shopping. The staff is great very accommodating and helpful with helping us navigate the area. Morning Breakfast was very nice as well. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again if we come back."

"I would highly rate the location of this hotel. It is 2 minutes away from the main square and getting into Sassi. 10/10 if you're looking for a place close to the tourist attractions, but don't want to drag your bags through the stairs of the Sassi. The rooms were very clean, and were left very clean every day by the cleaners. It does feel more like a business hotel than a vacation hotel. The staff was alright, they weren't super friendly, but they weren't rude either - which made us feel more like a business hotel type of vibe. The parking situation is confusing - they do have a parking garage for €18/night, however it's first come first serve, so not guaranteed to get a place. BUT, it's also in the ZTL zone - they do make you sign a form with your license plate to make sure you don't get fined, but I'd say rather find parking in the nearby streets outside ZTL or there's a parking garage 3-4 mins walking distance that's outside ZTL. This communication of parking was also alright from the hotel, and it was more so of figure it out yourself. Don't get me wrong, the staff is nice, but the hotels we stayed in, in rest of Italy, the hospitality there was next level, which is why the staff here felt average. But overall, highly recommend this hotel for the cleanliness, top location, breakfast, good rooms!"
