"This property has the potential to be a 5 Star hotel/resort. The property and surrounding grounds are excellent. The rooms are modern and spacious. The problem, and it’s significant, is the food and beverage. We had the worst meal in Italy I’ve ever had in their “fine dining” restaurant w a family party of 18 which we set up in advance. "Outstanding location , with breathtaking views of Umbria from atop of the hill on which the small town of Bettona is located . During the 13th and 14th centuries the hotel was a hospital and an orphanage . Wasn’t thrilled with the restaurant , but that of course is a matter of taste. All in all , I enjoyed the 3 night stay , using it as a base to visit Perugia (30 minutes drive) and Assisi (also 30 minutes).
