I was assigned to a room in which I found a towel on top of an armoir. I also noticed that there was no deadbolt on the door. The lock on the room door was filmsy while the latch on the bathroom door could lock you in. On my first night, I dealt with a noise disturbance from a male patron. On my second night, I was exposed against my will to a blunt. In addition, I kearned that my female former neighbor was also lodging there which unnerved me. She and her male roommate have stalked me for the past four months. A room change was granted due to the second hand smoke. The inn is charming and cute. However, one does not take a trip out of state to celebrate a birthday to encounter a person who is stalking her. I found that encounter to be offputting plus the lack of secure locks on the room doors.

The staff were fabulous and the room was spacious and comfortable. Decor was unique and fabulous, which made for a cultured experience. It made me know I was in historic Boston just in the room! I look forward to staying here again!

It was good until we discovered bites all over one guest’s back after our last of three nights. :-(. I messaged the Beacon Inn through Expedia about that problem after we returned home, and still have received no response more than two weeks later. That’s a definite negative on top of the very negative of whatever bugs were apparently present. On the positive, the room was spacious and the location right by a T stop was terrific. The neighborhood felt safe to be walking until around 8 PM, even though it got dark very early. As other guests have mentioned, it’s an older property, so don’t expect modern glitz, but certainly adequate for a night’s sleep. Given the bites, and no response from the property, I wouldn’t stay again.

Staff was the best, led me directly to where to park and upgraded me to another room available. The room was extremely spacious with a nice tv and fireplace. The property appears to be a former home divided and has a very homely feel. Stayed one night to attend an event nearby, and was able to leave my car to take public transit to and from the event.

Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfy. Check in was a breeze. Breakfast is very basic but great to grab a snack and coffee before getting on the road. Our only complaint was the water dispenser was empty the entire stay.

I dropped my hand soap and it went under the vanity. I fished it out and it was covered in dust and hair. That’s the general idea under all surfaces. The floor was peeling etc. Bed was short. The fan from the closet was dirty. No air control in room so have to keep window open in October because heat rises. No mini fridge as stated. The bathroom for room 9 is separate from the room across the hall. Walk up 4 flights fine for me. Might not be for others. Generally nice area. But for the price I accepted better. Understand that they ask for full payment before they give you a room key and don’t tell you that they don’t do refunds if you are unhappy with the accommodation. I don’t mind old houses. I mind thin walls in a hotel tho. Feel bad listing all this out but I honestly did not feel great about the place. If I knew these things beforehand I would have stayed somewhere else. They did say it was all listed in their website but it’s not listed on Expedia.
