"I thought I had booked a room with 2 queen beds but when we checked in only the handicap room was available with two double beds. It wasn't a problem but I felt bad taking up them handicap room in case someone who really needed it showed up and needed a room. The check in lady said it was the only room available. It was really nice that the hotel is connected to the restaurant so you don't have to go outside. The computer was not working when we checked in and there was 4 people there waiting...

"We were greeted by a large private security guard who stared us down and blocked our entrance to the front desk to check in! Not the experience we were expecting. It felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. I felt like if I would have said anything the guard would have stopped me and made me leave. "I travel to Iowa City monthly, and two of my usual hotels have recently closed, so I finally decided to try the Garden Inn. It has always been a little more expensive, but this was a celebration weekend, so we went for it. Overall, we had a good time. "This hotel is right across from Kinnick Stadium and a three minute drive to University of Iowa hospitals and clinics very conveniently located well priced very clean and nice, knowledgeable and friendly staff would definitely stay again! My husband and I stayed because I had a surgery and they had an available wheelchair for afterwards so I could get back up to our room. Staff was very accommodating."
