"We were happy to see that there was a restaurant and bar on the premises when we arrived as we were tired and it was raining. The food was good and fresh. The rooms are spacious but plain. "We had a lovely stay at this hotel. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. The gardens were beautiful. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. "The hotel is in a beautiful setting with great views over the surrounding countryside and a well maintained golf course. Our room was fairly basic and a little shabby which we expected to be more polished for the price paid. The restaurants were good, particularly the breakfast, included in our rate, which had a good selection and was great value for money. The food at the Cairns restaurant for dinner was nice but the service was a bit disjointed. There was a lot of staff but still took a while...

"Rooms were very dated and cleanliness was not at a reasonable standard at all, bed linen was dirty, dust on every surface, walls mouldy and cracked and full of dust. Carpets were dirty with stains and covered in dog hair. Windowsills had dead bugs and dirt on them and beds were very uncomfortable (two single beds pushed together is not a double bed which is what we booked for both rooms) overall it was not a hotel we will be returning to."
