Breakfast was amazing,as always. The couple who serve,are just so lovely. We have been coming to the Pand for many years. Originally when The Van Haek family owned The Pand . Frankly it is just not the same standard. Breakfast is always fabulous (the couple have been there for many years,and worked for the original owners,as above). We have never stayed in the Guest house,only The Hotel.So we decided to try The adjoining guest house. Frankly the hallway is quite shabby,and carpet needs a good clean. The room was ok ,sink needs sorting,as plug is not draining,but no big deal.
What absolutely ruined our stay ,was the manager,behind the desk. Who was quite charming,up until check out. When we arrived,I enquired about parking,as my husband has a blue badge,and his knees were certainly playing up. The manager said,at that time,that we could park anywhere within white lines,with his badge up ,but he said that we could stay were we were,as this belonged to The Hotel.At which stage,I asked if I needed to put his badge up,twice I asked the question. He assured me I did not,as before,because it was owned by the Hotel.Upon check out,I was told there was a €30 charge for parking,I questioned this,as above. He spoke to me as if I was an idiot,that he told me this.He didn’t! My husband then came in &confirmed that. He then virtually threw the money at me.
As we left a couple who were at the desk,said to me,how rude he was to them also! Sadly we will not be back,due to his attitude!
