"The hotel staff were fantastic and the view was beautiful. It was quite a ways from San Pedro town which limited dining options for us. The staff booked us a reservation at Mambo with a driver or boat pickup depending on the weather. The breakfast was good but very few options for dinner at the onsite restaurant. If I could do it again, I would rent a golf cart in town for the duration of our stay and book tours that picked us up at the resort dock."

"First thing you need to know- when they say it’s remote- it’s remote. What people are trying to say is - you’re stuck. To get anywhere is gonna cost you. We found out too late that you could rent a golf cart in town for about $50/day average. If you’re going to want one after you get there and figure out you need one- then it’s $155 for a day because they have to bring it and then keep it for $50ish dollars per day after that. Yes you can take their boat back to town for $30pp. Our last day we found out a large group could rent the property van. We never got very straight answers from the front desk about it all. If you’re going to do any excursions- you need that transportation to get yourself to it and book it yourself. They quoted me almost $400 for a snorkel trip for 2 that if I could have gotten myself closer to town would have been $55 per person. Our room was pretty and large and the air conditioning worked well. My husband got some sort of bites all over him and we wonder if it’s from the couch in our room or sand fleas. I don’t have any bites. There is one restaurant and they have different theme nights to keep you from getting bored. It’s an all inclusive - but not a buffet which was nice. Our final night they stopped bringing tickets to the table. The food was good. We tipped our people just in cash. sargassum invasion the night before we got there. No beach- they tried though Eduardo the bartender and Salvador the boat captain seem to work their butts off. "

"The pools were lovely, staff were helpful and friendly. We ate at the main restaurant once, was ok but could use updating. The pool bar food was good breakfast was super. Housekeeping very friendly and did a nice job. The area is quiet vs. the hustle and bustle in town but it's a short 20 min golf cart ride to town. We did the day sale for snorkling to the reef and sharks and rays and lunch at Caye Caulker with Tuff Nuff sailing excursions. Highly recommend. Our first time to Belize for my husband's birhday he loved it. Very chill don't pack much just swimming costumes, flops, cover ups and casual sundresses. We will be back!"

"Tiki bar well stocked, Super helpful staff, unit decor eclectic, but very clean. Food atGem restaurant fabulous. Can walk to other locations from resort. Can take a cart anywhere from there. Get cart from town if you can, resort prices are really high. Can book excursions from resort and super helpful that way. Ask for beach front, views are awesome. "

"My family and I loved our stay at North Beach Retreat! It is right on a private beach, about 45 min away from San Pedro town. Very quiet and relaxing, with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea. Norman and Yvonne were amazing hosts. They gave great insight about the island, were excellent chefs, and just very kind and hospitable. Would definitely stay here again!! "

"The property itself is beautiful, but the experience was overshadowed by extremely poor communication from the staff. I paid them to arrange local flights, yet they failed to provide any information afterward. After I arrived in Belize, I tried calling again with no response. I ended up messaging them on WhatsApp from the airport, unsure whether I needed to purchase a new plane ticket or not. Despite multiple attempts to reach out through calls, emails, and texts, I received no response for a long time. Eventually, my calls were ignored or possibly blocked. Fortunately, someone finally responded on WhatsApp and provided the information I needed, but by that point, the uncertainty had already caused significant stress. What should have been an enjoyable trip turned into one of the most stressful travel experiences I’ve had."
