whilst this is a modest older style early 1900s heritage accomodation , some with shared amenities, I found the Owner exceptionally friendly and helpful and the accomodation and communal areas and amenities spotless and very well maintained. There was also a night manager . This for me was a short notice accomodation/ travel requirement, whilst not luxury , but coming from a tourism and hospitality background couldn’t fault the service or accomodation in any way Thanks to Peter the manager Rod 13/7/2023 L

I arrived very late at night extremely tired after travelling many hours by plane and was leaving early next morning for another travel connection. Was very impressed by cleanliness , comfort and arrangements made for my late check-in. It is a very convenient location being across the rod from Cairns Central and I’m looking forward to spending another night there on my return trip where I will have a few more hours to enjoy the facilities.

I stayed here while working on businesses in cairns. It is an affordable alternative to a hotel and in a great location.

Some Reno’s done but more is needed

Our stay was decent - the bathrooms were clearly renovated and looked nice. The bedrooms were surprisingly nice as well - art on the walls, nice lamps and bedsheets, etc. however the bed was the squeakiest thing on earth. You would sit and it would be a very loud squeak. Let alone roll over at night. The kitchen needs work. It could be a lot nicer with some new paint or drawer protectors. It also needs more tools such as drying racks, more washing sponges, etc. overall decent place but the kitchen and the beds sucked.

まず、みなさんの評価を見ていた通り、受付のおじさんが感じいいし、親切！ このおじさんがシャワールームなど掃除もしてくれてました。 全体的に木の造りで、年季を感じるものの、清潔なほうでした。シャワールームやトイレは入るタイミングによって清潔さは変わります(色んな人が利用するから) サクッと泊まるには安くていい宿だと思います。

The facility is nice and clean and bright, however booked a double room with a garden view, ended up with a twin room (2 single beds) with a view of a corrugated iron roof. Good location, close to major shopping centre and mostly quiet.

Quiet and clean

The place is quite clean and very quiet which makes for a relaxing stay. The bathrooms seemed clean but didn't smell the best. We had an AC unit in our room but the cord could not reach the one outlet that was provided. It was very muggy and hard to get to sleep. Thankfully they had a high speed ceiling fan to give us some comfort. At the end of our stay we discovered that other rooms had AC, so not sure what that was about. Front desk personnel was very helpful and spent a lot of time cleaning. If we'd had AC, it would have been great, but it was still quite decent for the cost.

Quiet and Relaxed Place to Stay

This property has a no alcohol policy so you will never be disturbed by drunkards returning in the middle of the night. Spacious and comfortable, all beds are single beds!

Pros: quiet, you can actually sleep unlike most hostels in the esplanade; Good location next to supermarket and close to city center Cons: not the best place to meet fellow travellers if that's what you' re looking for.

This is not a great hostel. The private rooms are in a building with very thin walls where you can hear your neighbors talking in the next room. The wifi signal is very weak, and we killed two big cockroaches in the room. One advantage is the availability of parking right out front.

Zweckmäßiges Hostel mit guter Lage

Hostel liegt direkt neben einem Einkaufszentrum. Läuft man durch dieses ist man direkt an der Hauptstraße mit Fußgängerzone. Das zweierzimmer fand ich schön. Die Küche allerdings weniger. Von 6 Herdplatten funktionierten nur 3 richtig. Es gab nur einen kleinen Toaster. Auf meiner Reise durch Australien habe ich besser eingerichtete hostel gehabt.
