"I recently stayed at ibis budget Barcelona Sant Andreu de la Barca from April 9–15 with my wife, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience especially for our first visit to Spain.
The biggest issue was the temperature in the room. It was extremely hot throughout our entire stay, making it nearly impossible to sleep. The air conditioning was either not working properly or blowing what felt like warm air. By the third night, it stopped working entirely. We repeatedly asked the front desk for a fan, as we were both sweating every night and couldn’t rest. We were initially told the hotel didn’t have any fans, and when they finally found one on the fourth night, it didn’t even work.
We were also told that the hotel controls room temperatures centrally for cost-saving purposes, which explains why the AC never actually cooled the room even when it was supposedly “working.” The air in the room felt stale, and overall comfort was extremely poor.
Another frustrating moment was when I asked for a box of tissues. Instead of providing one, staff opened a box and handed me only 4–5 sheets, saying they weren’t allowed to give out a full box. That level of restriction was honestly shocking.
To be fair, the front desk staff were polite and tried to help, but they ultimately had no real solutions to offer.
This stay genuinely affected our trip and left a bad impression. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone."
