"Hotel was slightly dated but clean. Rooms were spacious. We were travelling with a baby so had to use multiple elevators to maneuver stroller between floors."
Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Historic District
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic location. Great walking distance to so many good restaurants on either side of king-- parking garages. Only a block away even though I parked in the street. It's actually the room was bigger than I anticipated. It was only me for the couch, the microwave, the sitting there was pretty cool to have-- I'm saving up to go back. I really enjoyed it. The staff was incredible"
"We loved our stay at The Ryder Hotel—it is a super cute and conveniently located hotel. The rooms are spacious, the amenities are great, and the staff is very helpful. My one piece of advice is to get to the pool early if you want a lounge chair as it is pretty small and fills up quickly!"
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charleston DWTN - Medical CTR by IHG
8/10 Good
"A little less than I expected. Breakfast was fine and I appreciated the water and coffee available at all times but the hotel felt a bit dated and run down."
"The hotel overall was fine, a little more rundown than I anticipated, but not dirty feeling. The room was probably as clean as it was going to ever be. The balcony door was permanently locked, which was a bummer. Didn’t interact with the staff besides checking in, had to wait a few minutes to be helped because both employees at the front were trying to figure something out for another guest. The location was very convenient, as it was not in downtown but only an 8-10 minute uber ride to Meeting Street. Leaving the hotel parking lot was a bit dangerous due to the exit being leading out into a busy road with oncoming traffic hidden by a blind curve."
"Upon checkout I left my sunglasses on the counter. I went back within a few minutes. Staff refused to look at security camera. Unhelpful, unprofessional I have never had any personal items taken at a hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. The front desk did not answer their phone all weekend. I could not get any one on the phone."
"They need to add a cover over the valet... Roof extension. People were getting soaked during rains. This was my complaint the last time I stayed at this hotel... The citrus club is a train wreck. Definitely need better management over the citrus club, and more common sense. This would take a very good property into a great property..."
