"Was not able to check in"

"This hotel is located right on the Douro, in a picturesque spot. There's a parking area right outside. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel claims to be four star; it may have been once but it no longer is. The rooms are spartan. A 20" tv from the 2000s. No amenities whatsoever in the bathroom, which had a broken wall shower and between one and three lights randomly working, depending on I know what. I had to move furniture to find the only single wall outlet close to the bed....

"We would definitely stay here again. We absolutely loved the balcony and the breakfast. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We wish we could have stayed longer."

"Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. A slight delay with check in at 3pm. Our room wasn’t ready til after 4pm. I suppose it is to be expected in peak summer season. They stored our bags and we had a quick swim. Our luggage was delivered to our room and we received a bottle of wine in our room chilled ready to enjoy. The room was fabulous with gorgeous views of the Douro Valley, and the pool area relaxing. Room service was delicious and convenient. The staff were very helpful and accommodating...
