Decent hotel overall.
Pros:
About a 25-minute walk to the city center where all the shops are. The beds and sheets are very comfortable, and the staff—including housekeeping—were extremely friendly. Parking is a bit pricey, but it’s conveniently located right in front of the building and assigned. Breakfast is the same thing every day, but good.
Cons:
-The bathroom had a noticeable urine odor when we arrived. I believe it may be due to the shower and toilet sharing the same tiled floor and drainage system. The drain didn’t work properly and would flood the entire bathroom floor so maybe people before us urinated while showering and the odor stayed since the drainage is no good. It would not drain unless the cover was completely removed. After cleaning the area myself with soap and the shower head, the initial smell improved.
-each night the room developed a strong rotten egg/chemical-like odor. We had to air out the room daily by opening the windows, which was difficult given how cold it was outside. The front desk was unable to tell me what that was, so we ended up sleeping with the smell everyday.
-The other issue is that because the shower and toilet share the same floor, anytime you showered everything got wet, so we had to ask for extra towels to mop the floors dry every time we showered.
- you can hear the neighbors next to you and above. Every time the upstairs was showering, using the bathroom, or talking, we could hear it.
-they don’t provide shampoo or conditioner
