8 mins from the airport with free shuttle. This was the only reason we went to Dar Es Salaam (layover). The room was giant and the shower was so good! A nice break from the African austerity as a tourist. The girls at the restaurant were so kind, the pizza was awesome!

A very comfortable stay with an excellent breakfast. The rooms are large, clean, and nicely furnished. Quality bathroom supplies were provided and the shower and bathroom met western standards.

Great Airport Hotel Option
Wonderful option for a hotel close to the airport. The room was very (!) large, nice amenities, clean and a friendly staff. There was some confusion at checkout about payment (they asked for my card when I had prepaid and seemed confused about why they didn’t know that) and they almost tried to get me to pay for a restaurant bill that was not mine - but they were apologetic for the confusion and did not press me for money I did not owe. I would absolutely recommend the location but encourage you to review the details when leaving.

Nice place to stay when you arrive or on your way to the airport in Dar Es Salaam. A good restaurant option and a very nice buffet for breakfast.

The maids were friendly and efficient. The front desk staff was professional and helpful. The service and food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The shuttle to the airport was prompt. I will stay there again. I highly recommend this hotel.

Positives 5 minutes drive from the airport. Provides complimentary hotel shuttle to the airport 24/7. Very clean room Staff were friendly Negatives The hotel had an awful smell when entered. There was a smell of sewage in our room when the AC was on. It was very unpleasant and made it hard to sleep. We turned off the AC and the room was tolerable. We felt safe at this hotel. Other than the unpleasant smell, the hotel was a great value close to the airport to catch a 4 A.M flight.

They are skimpy on towels, there were no hand towels or wash cloths in the washroom, only one towel for bathing.

Good location, but room did not have sheets. Took well over an hour to get sheets. Then in morning discovered there was no bath towel. Internet in lobby did not work. Also, attempted to call hotel numeroustimes before arrival and they simply do not answer the phone.

Decent place, but hot and smoky.
Poor air conditioner, stained carpet, smoking in the halls, ‘smoking section’ immediately as you leave the elevator on floor one, so you need to walk through a cloud of Smoke to get to your ‘non-smoking’ room. The place seems safe and the staff is friendly, but I need an air conditioner that works and hallways that are not full of smoke. I checked in and an hour later I checked out.

Blue Sapphire is situated very close to the International Airport, which is its main feature - convenience. Other than that it is located in a very commercial, noisy and busy area, and although the rooms are clean and tidy, they are utterly devoid of any charm. It is a convenient hotel for short transit layovers at Dar-es-Salaam, that is about it.

Great room. 2217, really nice. Probably the best shower I have encountered in my 3 months of travel so far in 2021. So, I agree with a high rating for the room. But the restaurant sucks. The breakfast is awful. Fruit is warm; juice is warm, the coffee is a light brown liquid. Awful. Thank fully they have Nescafe instant coffee there. One evening I ordered the Pilau rice (see photo). The rice has good but no vegetables and salad. I asked the waitress, who was clueless. Then 10 minutes later she brought a "salad"... just cut up things, ... no dressing. And the vegetable never came. For a thort stay close to the airport the Hotel Sapphire is great and worth the money. But the restuarant .... really bad.

Excellent hotel professional staff and the food was amazing. The Chef continued to out do himself with each meal. Close to Airport and a great Gym. Look no further if you are in Dar Es Salaam.

It is close to the airport, about 5 min drive, the hotel provides free shuttle. There is supermarket next door. Room was spacious, clean. Fridge was functional and big enough. Pretty good restaurant. Place to spend night between flights.

5-Star Staff! Every member was extremely attentive and kind! One of the best Hotel Staffs I've ever encountered. The Executive room I booked must have been sitting vacant for a while because by the time I moved in it was a little dusty and you could tell it was cleaned, but likely not so recently. The room also was missing the coffee/tea/ water boiler that other rooms had. The gym was great! The restaurant was great! (breakfast was just ok. Lunch/Dinner I loved). The steam room was closed during my stay.
