"The smell in the house is awful everything smells like old mold and nothing is updated. Its very cold downstairs and hot upstairs. If you like smelly clothes and short to railroad this is it. Retro for some people but really paint is not that expensive and some updated heating and cooling would be nice."

"La maison est bien située dans un quartier calme et dans le centre et les lieux touristiques. Pas de parking pour voiture mais des parkings autour (ou celui du Four Seasons pour les aventuriers...). "The room is big It compares the same price hotels. I like interiors and furniture of wooden chairs and tables. It has perfect location by train and bus stations. Recommend to all of my friends when they stay in Takayama areas."

"This hotel was truly something special! Spotlessly clean, great friendly service, free sake and beer in the evenings, and a very tasty breakfast too. Location in Takayama’s old town couldn’t have been better. A real highlight of my trip so far"

"The hotel overall was very good. We booked it via Expedia for 3 adults and one15 yrs old, but it was appare fly a triple room so they charged us for an extra adult even though there was not really sleep space for 4 people. I’m not sure if the confusion was at the Expedia website or the property but they should either change the children definition age or at least warn tourists about it. "
