"Charming miners cottages in the centre of Burra, within easy walking distance to eating & shops. Quiet, spacious, very comfy bed. Being winter the cottages do get cold but heat pump soon fixed that. When we arrived at the front of the cottages a notice on the gate said to check in around the corner at the office on site so we drove around only to find a board propped against a tree saying check in was now via the camp ground along the road. Another couple were in the same boat. When we arrived...

"We had no choice as there was no where else in Burra. Previous reviews had complained about a step in a dark corridor and nothing had been done to fix this problem and my partner also missed this step and stumbled. At least some yellow tape on the step would help. The corridors are stacked with old boxes and other bits of junk. You do get what you pay for and the room is simply furnished. At least the room was warm. The meal however was wonderful. Would eat there any time"
