"I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you want to avoid being charged for damages you did not cause.
When I checked in, I immediately noticed issues with the room—there were two holes in the bathroom door and makeup stains all over the bed. Because I arrived late and had an early flight the next morning, I took photos and reported the damage to staff the following day. I was reassured at the time that I would not be held responsible.
Despite this, I was later charged $232 for the damages. When I contacted the hotel, I was told I would need to wait 24–48 hours while they conducted an “investigation,” as there was no record that I had reported the issue.
Although I was eventually refunded, that was the extent of the resolution. I spent unnecessary time dealing with this situation and received no phone call apology or any goodwill gesture, such as a discount on a future stay.
Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I hope the hotel improves its internal communication and documentation processes to prevent situations like this from happening to other guests."
