"Inside pool not open. Breakfast bare bones. Roof work started banging early. Had to get out of bed after midnight to ask desk to call next room to turn off music. Had to go a 2nd time. She called again with room not answering----they probably could not hear the phone. We then both walked to room and the music was finally off, so no confrontation. Expedia never alerted me as to name change! Room that was requested was not where they were going to put us. I did call ahead to confirm and found this out. Will never stay again and hope to avoid using Expedia."

"The location was excellent and I think that is what you pay a lot for. The Hotel itself is tired and in need of renovations. The first room we were in, the toilet was not working and the staff did respond quickly and put us in another room with a working toilet. The continental breakfast was very scant and although breakfast sandwiches were mentioned by staff on checking in, other than toast, bagels and peanut butter and jam, nothing else. No hot portion like eggs or bacon or sausage. The bed was extremely comfortable though and had a good night sleep. And as I said, the location right downtown and walking distance to all downtown activities, amenities and restaurants and pubs. Plenty of parking at the hotel. If not for the location though, I wouldn’t pay more than half the price of what I actually paid for this hotel. "

"I have stayed at this property for 20 or more years and it has declined significantly in the past two years. I think it needs a full update of decor and infrastructure. It’s unfortunate as it is so well located to the center of south bend. The floor of my room was fake wood that left my bare feet dirty whenever I walked in it. There was a seriously stained toilet bowl, or it was allowed to sit and not cleaned properly. TV was a mess with two remotes and no logical way to use them. I had to call for help twice and almost a third time. The lighting in the room was very dark. Even with the drapes open."

"Great hotel! Room was spacious and clean, bed was very comfy. Plenty of restaurants nearby, eve a Whole Foods across the street! I would definitely stay again."
