"The hotel, restaurant and coffee shop were bustling with New Year revellers. The hotel accommodation is rustic. Rooms are bit too small for the size of the beds - no space for luggage. Plenty of options for a pint or a bite to eat, either in the hotel itself or in the village. Great spot for scenic walks and the smokehouse at the back does some great fayre. Staff are friendly and accommodating. "

"The bathroom was clean, and the bed sheets were clean, with a lovely smell even in the morning. Heating was on all night, so it wasn't cold in the morning, and after skiing at Glenshee, that warmth was lovely. The fireplace downstairs was so good, and we had a nice chat and watched TV. Great breakfast, and we also had dinner. I got lovely lasagna. The breakfast room looks lovely with a lot of paintings. Books are around, and a lot of small details. "After vacationing in Scotland for 2 weeks and staying in multiple places, this was by far one of our favorites. Clean, safe, with great hospitality by the owner. Breakfast was great as well. It’s a fantastic house and is well maintained in a great location. I had researched this house before our trip, but booked it last minute based on our location at the time in Scotland. Very happy I was able to stay here and enjoy it. As a high Expedia user, I strongly recommend this place. "

"Great location just on the edge of town, nice and easy to find. Staff were all great throughout, check-in was straightforward and painless, room was immaculate and comfortable, even better than it looked in pics. Breakfast was fantastic too (don't miss the porridge with whisky and honey!). Will definitely be back on our next trip to the area."
