Interesting location in Entebbe

The hotel had engaged a driver to pick us up from the airport and he was there despite the fact that the 'plane was delayed which we appreciated - interesting vehicle but it went. Hotel was not what we expected as it had no ac and the rooms were airless and stuffy and when we got there there was no power. The most helpful person was the driver who took us to the Zoological Park (well worth an visit) and then suggested where we ate supper (really good food and fab view of Lake Victoria) and picked us up afterwards. Overall disappointed in the hotel as it looked nothing like the 'photo on Expedia.

Not Happy!

Management failed to provide staff that I needed transportation from airport. There was no hot water. There was only one cable channel. The electricity was turn off during the day.

Bed was uncomfortable, no hot water as advertised, the hotel was much farther from the airport than other similarly priced hotels, and the other guests in the hotel were loud all night.

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff

This is my go-to hotel to stay in when I am passing through Entebbe. Staff here are very accommodating. They will pick you up at the airport free of charge, and drop you off. Hot water is abundant and the breakfast is great. I highly recommend Thames!

Pleasant quiet hotel

I booked online and then phoned the hotel from Ireland to check I was to be collected from the airport and gave the flight I was coming in on which was late in the evening. I confirmed that I was to be collected and that they had my name. I did not give the arrival time first because if they advertised a collection service the London flight is one they should know and also there could be a delay so they should routinely check before expected arrival. I was not collected and had to take a taxi which substantially increased the cost of my stay and to which they made the most minimal contribution. So although I was well looked after by the staff when I arrived the the owner was never there and was unhelpful. This is the first time that I have been seriously disappointed at my treatment in Uganda which in general is a country I would highly recommend

Responsive staff, good food. In a major expansion but it didn't affect service. Grew airport shuttle is a real draw. Only thing lacking is A/C.

Hôtel agréable

Très bon accueil malgré l'heure tardive d'arrivée . Le petit déjeuner était excellent et le personnel très avenant. Je retournerais volontiers dans cet hôtel .

Estancia en el Thames Hotel

El hotel es bueno en comparación de otros hoteles de la zona. El desayuno es aceptable. No tienen adaptador de corriente por lo que la carga de teléfonos, cámaras y computadores debe preverse. Hubo demora en la respuesta de la confirmación de la reserva y en la confirmación de recepción de los datos del vuelo de llegada pero no se presentó ningún problema y el Hotel garantizó el traslado del aeropuerto al Hotel aún sin haber verificado la reserva. Volvería al Hotel y lo recomiendo.

Thames hotel ligt langs een aarden weg die uitkomt op grote geasfalteerde baan Entebbe-Kampala.Taxi gestuurd door hotel.Taxidriver stond op te wachten met bordje met onze voornamen. Eén nacht verbleven. Ontbijt bescheiden.De taxidriver voor de rit naar grens met Congo stond 's morgens stipt op tijd aan hotel.

Okay for one night stopover

The hotel was quiet and a little out of the way located in local residential area mixture of basic homes and shops. High street busy and plenty of choice of eateries. Area very dark at night and possibly not safe to wander around alone. Hotel claims to have free wi-fi but not working at time of visit and so had to go to local internet cafe and taken there by hotel staff who kindly waited for me and also arranged taxi for early hours departure from Entebe airport. Room comfortable and clean, had to ask for towels, extension lead to plug in air conditioning fan and TV. TV only local channels and no news or english channels available and bad reception. Shower luke warm temperature but good flow and bathroom generally nice, newish and clean. For the one night okay wouldn't wish to stay for longer. Staff friendly and helpful

Perfect location around 15 minutes taxi ride from airport so you don't need to spend a lot of money at a chain type hotel

Under den afrikanska stjärnhimlen...

...satt vi i den underbara värmen och drack en kall öl och tuggade på lite sockerrör, som en av de anställda just kom hem med och gärna bjöd på. Litet och mysigt "familje"-hotell, som kunde erbjuda oss precis vad vi behövde på genomresa mellan flyplatsen och sedan vidare mot Tanzania. Relativt enkel standard, men rent och snyggt och definitivt helt OK. God frukost.

The location of the hotel is quiet. The rooms are ok (you have a mosquito net around the bed), but basic. The most irritating issue about the hotel is that there is a family living on the compound of the hotel so that when you are sitting for dinner, you are exposed to normal family life (such as children crying meters away from the breakfast table, or persons of the family taking a shower only meters nearby, or the nearby kitchen engaging in cooking and feeding of the children. Hence, the hotel life is not properly separated from the private life of a family living on the same compound. Another disturbing issue occurred when we ordered dinner. Between the placement of the order and the actual serving of the meal some 2 hours elapsed. Also, there was no menue offered. You have to take whatever was bought before by the family running the hotel. Other than the above, the hotel is quiet and the athmosphere is truely African, meaning relaxed. While we were there spending 2 nights, only 2 other guests stayed at the hotel during one night. So it is a pretty remote place.

Det var et fint hotel til prisen. Der var rent og pænt dog var der ikke gjort rent under sengen og der lå en kæmpe død kakkelak hvilket var temmelig klamt at opdage. Internettet virkede ikke og det gratis wifi var den primære grund til jeg valgte stedet. Desuden virkede tv sinalet heller ikke.
