"Stayed in the apartment. The apartments are a separate building across the street. The only downside was that laundry and breakfast were at the main building, but that wasn’t something that made my stay bad. At night, they have a bonfire out back. Pretty noisy apartments in terms of neighbors making about, since they’re wooden and seemingly older. Otherwise very clean. Kitchenette was in working order, with lots of storage for food. The pullout bed in my room was very broken. The springs in the middle had been destroyed, so there was a very obvious (and very uncomfortable) bend in the middle of the mattress. LOTS of flies. LOTS!! Many flies. The front window didn’t have a screen, and opening it invited ALL of the flies. Front desk offers fly swatters for renters who ask. Otherwise, a great stay. Those were definitely nitpicky things, because everything else was great. I even extended my stay two extra days to enjoy the room."

"This was a great place to stay. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. The hotel is only 2 miles from Mount Rushmore. We liked the game room with the pool table and ping-pong table. The staff was very helpful and provided gluten-free items when requested."

"The hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The location is great. The front desk staff is extremely helpful. The rooms are very nice. Now we get to the breakfast. The food for the breakfast is quite good. However, the plastic knives, forks, and spoons are the worst I have ever seen. They are flimsy beyond belief. It is almost impossible to cut anything with the plastic knife. The plastic forks bend to a 90° angle when you try to put them into something. Both the kitchen staff and the front deck staff are aware of this problem. They don’t believe they can do anything about it. After our first breakfast, we brought plastic wear from a restaurant that we had eaten lunch in. During the breakfast after our first night stay, my wife and I discussed the idea that it might be better to pick up the food with our hands and simply bite it. We didn’t do this, but it was tempting."
