"The room is clean and the staff is very kind. The building is maintained very nicely. We can experienced the nostalgic house. But the neighborhood is not very safe. Most of the houses near the hotel are vacant and broken. It is better to go their by Grab."

"We booked a standard room but they upgraded it to deluxe room (a nice surprise to ease our tiredness after traveling on a plane) Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, breakfast is very good, room is spacious, overall we loved our stay at East Indies Mansion. Tip: Don't forget to try the indian restaurant near the hotel (corner of lebuh pinang and lebuh china), their chicken kebab and cheese naan are delicious."

"1) the bathroom drainage constantly smell of urine, so strong that even if after shower the smell still lingers. We had to close the toilet door to ensure the smell is contained in there. Im pretty sure changing of room doesnt help as its due to old piping issues. 2) Ants. You simply can't leave food lying around for it will very quickly invite ants. Ants in the toilet, tv console, table beside your bed. It's terrible. 3) no sound proofing to speak of, the room facing the main road has traffic...

"The worst. Extreme noise after 2 am, loud bar bellow. No one on this property to stop a party at 4 am. No one will answer, when drugged punks harrass you, 15 members bike gang. Stay away when SW, unsafe! Very difficult to check in, wrong address given. No toilet paper. Holes in a walls. Windows do not close, street smog. Peeling moldy paint on ceilings, broken glass in showers, filthy towel everywhere. Do not walk bare foot. Stay away."

"Great location, checking in and out is simple and really good value for money. Wasn’t really a fan of the bathroom and toilet situation. But the most annoying thing was the noise generated by the AC and the fan in the bathroom. So hard to sleep at night."
