We spent two nights at the start and end of the road trip. Basically fine with this hotel, but two negative comments
1. no fridge in the room.
2. hot meal was omitted in the 2nd morning (Wed).
One good thing is that we enjoyed the spa and sauna in the in-house gym.
The staff at the front desk was excellent. She booked a taxi and the flybus for us and made sure to pack us breakfast packs for our very early department. The hotel was clean and easy to locate. Very helpful. Great stay.
This stay was our first night in Reykjavik. There were 4 in our group and we booked two double rooms. We slept very well in the comfy beds and quiet rooms! The breakfast offered a nice selection of tasty choices. We would stay here again if in the area.
The breakfast was included and it was exceptional! The jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge are found in the gym next door, a little strange to get to but wonderful facilities. The location was perfect for starting and finishing our trip to Iceland.
Everything in this property is expected to be clean and comfortable, but just the front desk service guy at checkin time was a bit grumpy. We tried to use the hot tub on checkin evening, but couldn’t find a way to get into the gym next door as the service guy told us we can use, but he did not tell us we need him to open the door for us, which make us wasted some time at the door of the gym trying doing this and that……
The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept wonderfully! Breakfast was included and offered a pleasant variety of food options. They even had a coffee machine that prepared my favorite cappuccino! The room was small but lovely, and the shower was good.
Plenty of parking spaces outside of the hotel, this is a huge plus compared to the downtown hotels. The trade off is you have to drive 18 mins to downtown.
I had the room not facing the highway, so I don’t have any street noise at night.
Hotel Vellir was a great place for our trip to Iceland. Rooms were very clean and staff were super helpful and friendly! When informed we would be leaving early in the morning, staff offered to make us "to-go" breakfast bags in case we didn't have time to sit down. Location is especially good if you have a rental and plan on exploring the southern coast and city. They helped make our trip amazing and I highly recommend them!
Very clean hotel. This was one out of six hotels that we stayed at that didn't have face cloths or hot breakfast menu items. Beds were very uncomfortable. A lot of road noise from the front rooms of hotel.

Nice property, useful location. Breakfast was not so bad. Beds were not firm. Bathroom water runs to the outside area. TV placement was weird, in the middle of two rooms.
Front desk was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was nice. We were also given a breakfast to go bag since we were checking out very early. Everyone went above and beyond for us. Rooms were clean and exactly what you expect. Would 100% recommend!!
Useful location and easy to find with free parking. Lobby was nice - open only to 11 pm though. We had a quad room for a family of 4 - forgot to request that 2 beds be put together so all had singles which was fine but should have thought to ask. Good size bathroom. Didn’t have time to use fitness center but looked nice. Breakfast (included) was fantastic.
