We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel had a rustic alpine feel and was very clean. The views were incredible! Breakfast was delicious and there were so many fresh foods to eat. Breakfast at the hotel was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip! Hergiswil is a quiet, charming town and this hotel had idyllic views of the town and surrounding area. It was NOT overcrowded with tourists.

The property is situated about 15 to 20 minutes drive from Luzern . The view is beautiful. Our room was.small but very cozy. The restaurant next door is very good. Breakfast was included, so that's a plus. It has a very relax atmosphere. We enjoyed the place. Will definitely come back to stay here again. I find though Switzerland is a very expensive place to visit.

It’s quite the uphill walk to get here but the views were worth it. Facilities were clean, rooms are on the small side and hotels in a suburban and quiet area. Service was good and gave an overview of sights in town and the bus service. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent - reasonably priced (compared to area and country), great quality and excellent portion sizes. Loved the “game” menu with local dishes.

The view during breakfast brunch, which is included was second to none. We were spoiled everyday. The breakfast is also generous, including bacon, eggs and sausage. The hotel has a lot of information on-site and offers the Niwalden visitor pass. We did not receive this information before our stay, and it would have been helpful to help us navigate when we arrived. If you are arriving from Lucerne train station, call a cab or Uber. It is quick and easy. We tried using transit but the buses from the train station in Hergeswil only run once an hour, so timing is difficult. Do not walk it from the train station with baggage using Google maps as your guide. It is not practical. The fastest path is uphill, with one section that is 30 degrees and with weathered asphalt. The room we had (family suite) was clean and had an amazing view from the balcony. The only gripe would be the shower that would change temperature constantly dumping very hot scalding water at times. This happened with both showers but one was more consistent. We figured out an approach (i.e. the right temperatures and timing for the shower cycles) and made it work. We had a great visit!

Loved the view from this property. Breakfast was great as well The improvement I suggest is better utilization or placement of the AC. In our room, a portable AC was placed on top of a table in front of the window. It was bulky and blocking the view and occupying the space. It was an eye sore.

The property is located about 15 minutes from the Lucerne train station. When we checked in, the registration was easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They asked if we’re going to eat and when we said yes, they said they would have a table waiting for us in the attached restaurant. The room was large and very clean. Beautiful views overlooking lake Lucerne. We were able to have a set on the outside patio which was fantastic. The only issue was the a/c unit. It cooled very well but it was a portable type and the exhaust hose came loose from the vent to the outside during the night and we didn’t realize what had happened and woke up to a very warm room. This was a fantastic place to stay. Very friendly staff in the hotel and restaurant. The restaurant offered very good food offerings for dinner with great wine offerings. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

The view was amazing! The food at dinner & breakfast was excellent! The interior needs a refresh for most rooms & common areas, bathrooms were already upgraded & nice. The A/C hose disconnected from window attachment/duct tape & my husband had to fix it. Room was still too warm with A/C running. I think a better A/C system is needed. Woman at desk was very rude to my husband when no one was there to assist us in retrieving our luggage being held for us until rooms were ready & he tried to retrieve them himself- she was very reluctant to hold our luggage so we could sightsee.

Incredibly clean, the beds were super comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. My favourite was probably the fruit and muesli youghurt bowl. Yum yum! And the balcony dining area was simply spectacular. The staff was very helpful with questions and I just simply have nothing bad to say over all! Highly recommend. To be noted that while there’s no AC, the coolers were more than enough!

beautiful view during breakfast. view from the room was across the street at another building. very expensive for what you get: hard bed, portable a/c that couldn’t keep up, a duvet that was too hot, and shower plumbing with hot and cold reversed.
