"I have stayed here a few times over the years when I have to be in Champaign-Urbana, it is close to the highway, the University, and Carle Hospital. That is all that is good about it. This hotel has declined seriously since OYO acquired it.
First, they leave the desk unmanned at check-in time. It's not a good sign to pull into the parking lot and there are 6 people milling about and a sign at the desk saying "Back in 15 minutes." The people already there had various waiting times between 10 and 60 minutes. One man wandered around the grounds and found one cleaner that had no idea who to call about the empty desk. Don't bother calling the number listed on any travel site, it will route you to India where you will get hounded about your confirmation number instead of anyone wanting to discuss why the hotel is empty.
I only kept the reservation for 1 night because of a relative having emergency surgery at Carle. I wish I had not. The grounds are full of trash, broken glass, a fallen parking lot light pole, cigarette butts, and dog feces. What was once a dining room is stuffed with boxes and junk. A mattress was sitting in the parking lot over night in the rain. The grounds reek of marijuana.
The grouting in the shower was moldy, the sink leaked, the AC hardly worked, the screen door had tears, and the parking lot was better lit by the Motel 6 across the street. Charging $120 for this is insane. Avoid at all costs.
