"I really love my stay in Laforet Shuzenji. The in-room onsen was a GOD SEND and the rooms are really clean. However, I would only encourage travelers who are driving to only stay there as the road up to the hotel is really far and dark in the night. There is a shuttle bus but it doesnt come very frequent. Restaurants and convenience stores are mostly not anywhere near to the hotel.
Even check in counters are located some distance away from your designated chalet rooms.
While my experience in the hotel are great, there was a night which we left our food trash in a bag outside our room. We were surprised that some unwanted guest ( i guess it was the wild boars) came rummaging in the night while we were asleep and the whole corridor was messed. So please be careful about it.
The amenities were very well provided with all the onsen towels and they even had kimono for little children. All in all, I really love my stay in Laforet and will certainly return if I am back in Izu."
"Lovely, clean spacious room with private hot tub overlooking the ocean. Really enjoyed the breakfast - between our party, we tried both the Japanese and Western breakfasts. It was a very authentic, enjoyable experience, with very attentive staff. Nice little pit stop on our drive from Kyoto to Tokyo 🙂"
"This was a unique and calming stay for us. The traditional room was beautiful and had unique touches. The view of the green maple trees was zen. We used the deep soaking tub and also the wonderful onsen facility. I highly recommend staying here for a peaceful getaway."
