"Staff was friendly enough, but the room smelled old and the carpet didn't feel quite clean. Bathroom had one small bar of soap for handwashing, no shower cap, cotton swabs, or any other amenities that are usually standard. The towels were threadbare and a couple od them even had holes and tears. The lighting was giving cheap motel on the side of the highway where a serial killer would hide out sort of vibes. The exterior grounds were well kept but the interior could definitely use updating. At least new towels that don't have any holes or tears."

"The property is charming and love the art deco look of the lobby. The service was excellent and the light breakfast brought to the door was great. However, the property needs a little sprucing up. The hallway carpets were quite worn and look dirty. The room was fine, but the mattress was horrible. It is a metal spring mattress with a fairly thin top cover. It was like sleeping on cement. Had back pain every morning. The pool area is nice, but should have someone sweep up and wipe down the furniture a couple times a day. The tree pollen/leaves were all over and a film of pollen covered the furniture & tables, the yellow pool towels could be bigger. What's advertised on the website is not accurate. The restruant next door was no longer in business, the Rum Room at the back wasn't open, we were not offered the 2 for 1 drinks from 3-5 at Robert's next door (might have been for the other closed restaurant, but some kind of discount would have been nice). We did go off season, so the vibe was very quiet. "

"Nice and clean and great location staff very friendly and accommodating rooms are small but bathroom was good size and clean nice soft towels and robes In the heart of downtown, would stay again "

"The front desk lady was absolutely horrid. She made me feel particularly crap. Something went wrong with the rezzy I paid for my name wasnt on it. "

"This is a really nice hotel, just on the edge of downtown - not in exurbia. It’s almost like a little hacienda, with lovely common areas - a big plaza with a fire pit among other amenities. The breakfast is very good; weekends they have a buffet, weekdays ala carte. It’s not cheap but a very good deal if included in the room rate. We would definitely stay again; in fact we are returning tomorrow (it’s on the bookends of a drive up the California coast)."
