"Beautiful historic home on a gorgeous lot with firepit, flowers, blackberries, a firepit, a porch swing, and creek winding through. The common areas are well appointed and kitchen well stocked. I would have been more comfortable if there had been a host or innkeeper on site being 2 females travelling alone but the other guests seemed respectful and we had a beautiful time enjoying the house and yard. "

"Lovely decorated motel. Room was well kept. Very close to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake. Staff was very warm and welcoming. Keep in mind there is no breakfast offered; there is coffee and snacks, although there is a cafe right across the street. "

"Shanty Creek was a great place to stay. The room was spacious, clean, and private. The restaurant on site had fun specials after 5 pm and there was a shuttle that took you to the bar in town. Pool area seemed well kept, and so did the grounds in general. I'd totally stay here again. "

"Such a beautiful property full of charm, and the hospitality of the owner was excellent. Jamie is a wonderful cook, her homemade/handcrafted breakfast was out if this world, desserts were delicious. Jammie was very kind and caring. The house is absolutely stunning and very clean, nice quite and peaceful place. I would definitely go here again. "
