"The hotel was fine for a short overnight stay while driving across country. Nothing fancy but seemed to be clean & well maintained. One problem was that we made the reservation on Hotels.com only about an hour prior to arriving. We received a confirmation email so we thought we were good to go. Upon arrival we were told that they could not locate our reservation even though I showed them the confirmation email. Their explanation was because we made the reservation through a "third party" and should always make the reservations through Choice Hotels. As far as I'm concerned, that's between Hotels.com and Choice Hotels but I was on Hotels.com and received a confirmation after I gave them my credit card information. Here we are at midnight after driving for 15 hours from California just needing a night's sleep. The manager said they did have rooms available and we could just check in directly with them for the same price as Hotels.com. Not so, the bill was $50 more but I paid it and decided to handle it with Hotels.com the following day. To my surprise, the charge from the hotel never made it to my credit card. Only the original charge from Hotels.com. They must have figured it out internally. I only mention this because if they hadn't had a room available this could have turned out badly at 1AM in the morning."
