"I've been looking forward to staying at Talta during ski season but the experience was rather disappointed. The location is great, front desk staff was friendly, and room is clean and updated. However, the walls are paper thin (we stayed at one end unit on the top floor of the building), and we had to hear non-stop dog barking from 7pm-10pm, then someone watching TV during sleep time. It was a nightmare stay for a needed good sleep. People camp at the outdoor hot tub, so it's almost impossible to get in unless you keep monitoring it by wasting your night. I messaged the number they provided for noise, but no response. There's no service outside of business hours. "

"The Lodge is very convenient for skiing, located at the base of the mountains next to the lifts. I stayed there in mid-March during many schools' spring break, and the hotel was very busy with lots of families. All of the staff that I met were friendly and helpful. I dined twice at the two restaurants on site: Alpine Hall and Tipsy Trout. Service quality was mixed. One night at Alpine Hall was professional, the other was amateurish with a poorly trained server and an out-of-date wine list. Service at Tipsy Trout was good. Unfortunately, I got very sick after having dinner at Alpine Hall my last night at the Lodge. When I reported my illness to a hotel employee, she asked what I had eaten and said that other guests had reported getting sick. I did not hear anything further from the Lodge. "

"Since this hotel is in a college town and I was visiting my daughter, who is 20...I needed her to check me in because my flight was seriously delayed. There was no leeway to consider my request. I had to change the reservation to her friends name who is 21. It was not an unreasonable request. I needed a favor and some consideration. The hotel was fully paid for. She just needed to check me in. The hotel failed in that capacity. Customer service is everything in this business. I am in the customer service and travel business. I accommodate my clients who happen to be national recording artists. I am also a Platinum Expedia and a Hilton Honors member member booking every hotel me and my clients stay at. I spent over $50,000 on lodging last year alone. The hotel was lovely..on the lake... but I probably won't consider staying there again. "
