  • I took this photo in Messinia, Greece in summer 2016. It's of Voidokilia Beach and it's surroundings. Voidokilia Beach is on the Peloponnese peninsula and it was the most picturesque beach that I visited during that Greek trip, which was almost exclusively in Messinia. On that mountain is Nestor's Cave and above this are the ruins of a 13th-century Frankish castle (Old Navarino or Palaiokastro). Look closely and you will see :). I didn't get to walk up there. It was brutally hot that day and I spent most of the time at the beach. But, I did make time for some hiking. Near where I took this photo there was a lot of medieval or ancient ruins. Near those beautiful rocks. I had to be careful when walking on them, but it was worth it!

Overall this is a clean, and friendly hotel. Staff are efficient in service. Food was good. Surroundings were well kept.

Excellent beach with humongous "L" shaped pool. Great menu services. Met George and Niko the owners, very hospitable and caring people. I give them credit with what they have built and acchomplished.

Absolutely gorgeous location and beautifully designed and maintained facilities. Golden Sun Hotel is a gem! Perfect place to relax and retreat from the busy-ness of urban living!

This motel was good value for money.Not too far from the main town Finikounda and easy parking!It was very nice outside overlooking the beach and pool!Inside could do with a bit of an update but still ok.The breakfast was good aswell!

Great hotel conveniently located near the lovely town of Finikounda. Modern rooms with nice views of the mountain range meeting the ocean. Breakfast included as is a in house restaurant offering a good choice of tradionnnal Greek dishes at good prices. A must to consider if you are planning to stay in the area

Golden Sun Hotel is in a truely gorgeous location. It is a delightfully quiet, restful place to swim (in both ocean and pool), read, enjoy the company of froends and marvel at the beautful view. The staff were pleasant to interact with and very welcoming. The facility is dated but in good condition and very well cared for. We very much enjoyed our brief stay and would enjoy a return visit!

We arrived in a dark reception area, were known was there to greet us. Another guest had to direct us to the man sitting in the dark in the dining room. The beach and the pool area was very nice. We are hoping for more regarding their food service. I was highly distressed by the mattress. We had to double check to make sure it was not a box spring/mattress foundation we were sleeping on. I got 3 hours of sleep. I was really hopeful for thos place based on the photos. It has me very leery of photos and reviews I see online.

The rooms were nothing like the photo on the website. No towels in the room. The shower was murky and no handle for the shower head. Asked if they could bring us some water to the room and we were told that if we wanted something, we should have brought it with us…

Firstly we chose this hotel because it had a lift and we knew we would be coming with large suitcases. We were very disappointed to find that there was no lift at all even though it was advertised as having one. The owner was very unfriendly and surly. No basic amenities in the room such as tea or coffee. No shower gel in the room as they had run out. Pool was great and friendly poolside staff. We booked 2 rooms both with partial sea views but on arriving we were told that there was no Seaview - they did upgrade one of the 2 rooms. Rooms were very basic. One room had basic TV channels all in Greek while he other room had more channels including English channels, albeit it was a pc monitor sized TV. When we arrived around 9pm the hotel foyer was in darkness- we asked the owner if the power was out and he said no - we found out that they just don’t turn lights on

Die Anlage hat einen schönen Poolbereich mit direktem Zugang zum Meer, mit eigenen Liegen. Eine sehr schöne Strandbar direkt in der Nähe. Das Zimmer war ok. Frühstück war nicht gut, schlechter Kaffee.

Die Lage und die Aussicht sind top. Die Angestellten freundlich. Die Einrichtung der Zimmer sehr alt und abgewohnt. Das Bett schmal und die Matratzen sehr hart. In den Kästen keine Fächer. Schimmel im Bad. In einem Zimmer hat es nach Kanal und Schwefel gestunken. Zum Teil ist die WC Spülung nicht gegangen. Vom Nachbarzimmer hört man die Toilette (Stuhlang, Harnstrahl) Das Frühstück eine Frechheit. es fehlt: Joghurt, Gurken, Eiergerichte, Müsli, pflanzliche Milch, Honig, Zitrone f. Tee, die Weckerl alt und hart. Wir haben im Supermarkt unser Frühatück gekauft.Keine Handtücher am Strand und Pool.Zimmer wurde nicht täglich gereinigt.l

Chambres nettoyées chaque jour. Literie changée régulièrement. Très bon matelas. Restauration au bord de la piscine laquelle est chaude et bien entretenue. Cadre très agréable. Personnel accueillant et très agréable.

Séjour mitigé, dommage !

L'établissement est très bien situé sur un spot alliant un accès plage direct et une très belle piscine. L'hôtel a été rafraîchi à l'état général est très correct. Le problème majeur réside dans l'accueil très désagréable en particulier celui du responsable nous avons eu un problème de climatisation, on nous a mené un bateau pendant 2 jours en nous disant que c'était normal alors que nous constations un dysfonctionnement évident et que nous dormions très mal à cause de la chaleur excessive puisque la clim ne fonctionne pas et givrait. il a fallu insister et faire intervenir hôtel.com que je remercie pour que enfin on nous change de chambre. Je trouve extrêmement dommage d'avoir eu ce type de relation très désagréable et d'avoir dû nous bagarrer alors que nous étions parfaitement dans notre droit. Autre point négatif le petit-déjeuner plutôt mauvais avec uniquement des produits très bas de gamme et mauvais, au final nous ne prenions que du pain grillé avec de la confiture et du beurre. Contrairement à l'argumentaire ce petit-déjeuner n'est pas gratuit il est juste inclus dans le prix de la chambre et franchement pourrait être plus qualitatif. C'est dommage de gâcher un si beau lieu par un accueil aussi mauvais !

Un albergo molto bello, situato in un luogo incantevole. Il personale è gentilissimo, la canera era fresca e spaziosa con una vista mozzafiato verso il mare. Parcheggio privato comodissimo e colazione dolce/salata di buona qualità. Il Wi-Fi non era molto stabile.

The area is beautiful. The beach is lovely and clean, water is great to swim and its not crowded. There is a beach bar next door but the hotel pool bar and food are great so you dont need to leave if you dont want to! 10mins walk to the little town which has more restaurants and a supermarket. I enjoyed breakfast you had cereals, fruit, greek yoghurt and honey, bread ham cheese and eggs cooked 3 different ways. Overall lovely and i would come back.
