Good. Would stay again.Wonderful view IKEA ;-)
Free breakfast was great. Room was clean and comfortable. About the only thing I didn't like was that there was a Sweden heatwave and the rooms have only a fan with NO air conditioner. Luckily, we were on the 2nd floor and felt safe to keep the window open. However, there are no window screens ANYWHERE it seems in Sweden. So the biting bugs will fly into the room.

Too expensive for what you get
We were disappointed with this hotel. It was very clean, but we had a very small room that was just basic. The bed was small for 2 people and not very comfortable. The breakfast was not a success either. The cheapest ingredients in the bread, rolls and orange juice. The eggs were tasteless and the coffee weak. We expected more because this hotel was more expensive than any hotel we stayed at last summer. None of the other hotels were this poor.

Stop and shop
Rasta Kalmar is a handy stop mid way between Copenhagen and Stockholm. The rooms are located upstairs at a restaurant. Positives were the spacious rooms, which even had a couch, free parking, good breakfast (included in booking), and location with plenty of nearby shops including Ikea. About the only thing the room didn't have was a fridge.

Room quite dated, though comfortable bed. Heavy room doors were very noisy every time they were closed. Breakfast was reasonable though the restaurant was more like a roadside stopover, we went elsewhere for evening meal. Ok for one night stay. Easy parking.

Nice place.
The staff was very helpful and nice. The breakfast was very good.I Initially thought it was going to be a noisy night but I was wrong. It was a very quiet one. Good location as well. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel. Great breakfast
The hotel is nice, breakfast is incredible and the water pressure is the best I have ever had. I recommend the hotel if you don't mind being far from the city center. Is a 15 to 20 minute bus ride to city center, so it's not much anyways.

Excellent position
On first entering the Reception was not immediately obvious and it took a few minutes to spot the sign above what seemed to be the food counter of the restaurant. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and organized a taxi for us to attend a wedding the following day. She also told us of a frequent local bus into Kalmar. The bus stop was two minutes walk away and we used it all the time. It cost about 43kronor for a return ticket for us both. The taxi, one way, was almost 200kronor. We ate at the hotel the first night and the food was good, big servings and not expensive. There were some upholstered dining chairs in one area but they were very dirty as people had spilled food on them so we didn't sit there. The carpet was also dirty, again with spilled food but I would blame the guests not the hotel for that. The room itself was very clean and cleaned daily and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice; the usual Continental fare plus hot food. You helped yourself to coffee and there were three machines. Two had signs on in Swedish. One suggested it was hot water, the other I couldn't begin to decipher but I used it anyway and it gave very strong coffee, not particularly hot. On the last morning one of the staff saw me using it and said the coffee was not ready in that machine and I should have been using the third machine without the sign. The coffee from it was still quite strong but was much hotter. I can't blame the hotel for my stupidity.

Right what we were looking for
Nice little hotel. Good breakfast, but most important for us, free parking in a country where is hard to find. Hotel was just what we needed for a night stopover and early visit to Kalmar before heading to Stockholm.

This hotel is like staying at a truck stop. In fact, it may be a truck stop. Its connected to a convenience store, restaurant & Burger King. Access to rooms is through the restaurant & not convenient at all. The restaurant is bad, breakfast buffet also bad. Beds very uncomfortable, pillows a joke. The staff is very nice but not very helpful. We had laundry done & it was returned still wet & they refused to put it in back in the dryer! Must have a car for this location. Parking is free for guests. Very dissatisfied with this hotel.
