Napili Shores Maui by OUTRIGGER

"The room was cleanand the staff was very nice. Didn't use the pool but it looked good. The views were great but because of the hurricane alot of the sand was washed away so getting to the beach was difficult. There is only someone at the front desk from 9 to 5 so if there's a problem you are pretty much on your own. I made a mistake with my code on the first day and was locked out. Luckily there was a security guard on duty and he let me in. Overall you can tell it's older but the price was decent and there was a very complete kitchen."

"Stayed here last year and was excellent! This year was not quite as good. Did not get the room we thought we booked. When a description says deluxe ocean view, you think you are getting on the ocean or 1-2 rooms down side of building.from ocean. Our room was 4 from the ocean and on 2nd floor directly above the pool so could not hear waves but heard the water regenerating from the pool. I think that should be better described in the room description. Also, the hotel is under renovation so even being on the 2nd floor (they were working on the 12th floor) you can hear what sounds like jack hammers all the way down to the second floor 9:00-5:00 Monday through Friday."

Aston at Papakea Resort

"We love Papakea and have stayed many times, but this particular unit, F101, was not up to the standards of other units. While ocean front is nice, the inside needs a serious update. There are cracked tiles on the bathroom floor and the furniture in the living room is scratched up and not comfortable to sit on. The A/C unit is not strong enough to push air into the bedroom which was the hottest part of the unit. There are no extras in the unit, like beach chairs or boogie boards which other units have. The curtains in the living room look very dingy in appearance and they did not match the ones on the sliding glass door. Everything else about this resort is perfect."
