"Front desk guy was super rude, disrespectful and gross. We rented a room for 6 max capacity (suite) and he was only letting 2 stay and making us pay for the extra 4 people, completely ignoring the fact we booked a room for 6 max capacity. We tried every possible way to fix the situation, but he only showed a bad attitude and gave us the worst treatment we have ever received! Neither we nor our family and friends will ever rent here again! Avoid the bad experience and don’t go here! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. "

"Room was very clean great a/c. Beds were a little small, bathroom as well. Pool area is great. Restaurant on property Skippers excellent. Definitely would book again. Next time would reserve a bigger room."

"I want so much to love this place but honestly the quality of the property and the maintenance is so poor I had to write this review. The property has so much potential and has great aspects but the rooms are so poorly painted. The kitchen is so rundown, the sofa is dirty and the walls are touched up like this was a low grade motel. The staff is so nice and friendly. The location is top notch. But then there is the restaurant that smells musty and the furniture is old and grungy. Honestly it’s hard to believe that this hotel is an opal house property because all the other times I have stayed at an opal house property the rooms and the venue have always been very well maintained. I went for Mother’s Day this year and last because of the convenience for my family and I but I am just shocked with the rates they charge and then with the poor maintenance on this hotel. The dishwasher is rusted inside. The refrigerator icemaker wasn’t working and the refrigerator is all banged up. The walls have uneven painting. It’s almost embarrassing. Last year I let the manager know and I was hoping last year was a fluke. I even called before this time and told them about my experience and asked them to please make sure this time was better and unfortunately it wasn’t. I hope they actually start paying attention to these things because the brand is going to suffer. A hotel brand like opal house should take pride in their properties and maintain it to higher standards. It is not cheap!"

"Great short getaway. Crowded but underrated for the price."

"We were a couple traveling with an adult family member and our room gave us privacy as the king size bed was upstairs with a full bathroom while the downstairs had a queen bed with half bath, kitchen, dining and a nice balcony looking over the water and boats passing by. Super clean unit with a kitchen equipped for 4 people. Plenty of parking. Too bad we were only there for a night as our final destination was key West. Next time we'll stay more nights!"

"When I made the reservation, it indicated that the room included a refrigerator and a coffee maker. It didn't have them, so I had to request them. The air conditioning wasn't working properly; I was hot both nights. I never received room service."

"This was our 25th wedding anniversary and a bucket list trip for us. We had roaches in our room in the room next to us had a dog that would bark at all hours of the night. We went to the front desk and called several times to no avail. Finally, on our third night they said the next morning they would deep clean our room and spray it for bugs. They never did. M when we arrived Our sheets had black stains on them and they were never changed. Our shower had rocks and sand in. It was also never cleaned. Valet parking is a joke. The literally parked our car along side of the highway. Upon checkout, I was so frustrated and disappointed I brought them one of the bugs. At that point, they comped our room charges, which honestly is a bare minimum of what they could’ve done.. but they never removed our breakfast charges which we had prepaid for as part of our reservation. Honestly, we could’ve stayed at a La Quinta and been treated better"
