"The room was comfortable. It was facing an apartment building and the alley below was noisy at times during sleeping hours. The apartments directly across from us smoked cigarettes and we could smell it in our room at times. "

"The primary plus of this hotel is its location, about 70 meters from the entrance to the Amsterdam Centraal train station. This was important to us, because our days were spent on day trips to Haarlem and The Hague via train. So it was a REALLY convenient location! And despite that central location, including proximity to stations for many of the (quite noisy!) trolleys and the "Lovers" canal tours, the rooms are incredibly well insulated from external noise! However, the INTERNAL walls are paper-thin: we could easily hear discussions and coughing in the room adjacent to ours. The bed was very comfortable, but the room around that bed was severely limited. The staff members were wonderful about facilitating check-in and helping us store our luggage before check-in time and after check-out. They spoke flawless English. We didn't avail ourselves of the restaurant or the breakfast, instead walking across the bridge to have breakfast at one of the many restaurants a short walk away, and there are more in the (quite large) train station, another benefit of the central location."
