Basic hotel, okay for business stay

For business, the hotel was fine. There was nothing exceptional about it. The rooms were relatively spartan. I had two twin beds, although I requested just one. I had also requested a nice view, but was given a view of the parking lot. One thing that bothered me quite a bit was the fact that many services typically rendered by hotels were missing - for example, I asked for an ironing board and iron and was told that there was a laundry service, but I could not iron my clothes myself. For a business traveler, this is not acceptable. The local area is okay. I took a walk around the park. It was a cloudy day so the mountains could not be seen and everything was gray. I've stayed closer to the Kranj center before and enjoyed that location much more. TLDR: Fine for a business stay, but certain elements could be improved. Not recommended for tourists.

Beautiful Brdo

Brdo Park is fantastic, the hotel very nice. My only suggestion is to get softer mattresses. The mattress was hard as a rock.

A peaceful stay in a hotel in a park

WE LOVED THIS HOTEL,IN A LOVELY PARK FREE TO RESIDENTS THE PARK WITH LAKES VERY QUIET AND UNSPOLIT WE WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE TO GO BACK. The only criticism we had was the endless terrible music played all day in the lounge area.Squarking singers,making the most awful noise We love music but felt this really lowered the tone.

Nice, quiet hotel in a beautiful surrounding

Nice, quiet hotel near the airport and historical cities of Kranj and Ljubljana. Additionally, the next beautiful place with an alpine lake and phantasmic view (and good restaurants) is only 30 km distance

Logieren wie eine Prinzessin

Tolles, ruhig gelegenes Hotel in einem wunderschönen Schlosspark. Wenn man je in der Nähe von Kranj ist, ein absolutes Muss!! Nur schon wegen des Parkes! Schönes Frühstücksbuffet und feines Essen. Nah an den Bergen und kristallklaren Flüssen. Fast schöner als in der Schweiz. Was wünscht man sich mehr?

Nice hotel in beautiful place

Beautiful hotel, next to a nice park. Rooms are nice, well equiped. Two tiny recommendation only: Breakfast could offer bigger variety, felt to be short. Same applies for minibar, had one bottle of all drinks, which could be not enough. Still great place for good price, will surely return upon next journey to the region.

A very nice and clean hotel in a great location

The hotel Brdo is located right next to Brdo National Park. As a guest of the hotel, one usually gets free entrance into the park (entry fee is required for others). Not only is it one of the nicest national parks of Slovenia, it also offers a very nice bike/running route around it (approx. 10km). The hotel itself is well-kept and lives up to it's 4-star rating. Rooms are standard equipped with TV, minibar and a few other commodities. The breakfast buffet that is usually included in the rate is good and offers a variety of choices, normally including lots of fruit. On certain days, there is also an omelette Chef that prepares eggs to choice. Unfortunately he/she was not there this time around. One very small point of critique for breakfast lovers is that there are no fresh fruit juices (only very low quality machine juice from concentrate). Other than that, both the breakfast buffet and the rest of the hotel as well as the beautiful surroundings make for a great stay at very acceptable prices.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful location

Excellent location, in a beautiful part of Slovenia. Hotel is very nice, room spacy, light. Bed could be a bit harder for the bck, but still convenient. Receptionist upon arrival was very friendly, helpful, giving us good hints where to go for dining. Breakfast was also nice. Only thing, I was not so happy about grass cutters working before nine a.m. But still this a great place with reasnable price! Hope to return!

A very good hotel in an beautiful surrounding

This hotel is located right next to the amazingly beautiful state park Brdo. Not only does this translate to a very quiet and peaceful surroundings but also allows for some nice walks or jogging. The hotel itself is clean and more or less what you would expect for a 4-star category. The rooms offer all the basics needed. For some reason, I had some trouble with the bed mattresses. Although I personally like hard mattresses, I woke up with quite a lot of back pain from this bed, something I never experienced before. The hotel offers an extensive breakfast buffet. The highlight of this is the personal omelette/pancake chef that prepares various items to one's individual preference. This is excellent. Unfortunately the hotel completely failed at one of my personal breakfast critique points: Fruit juices. As far as I'm concerned, it is not too much to expect a 4-star hotel to offer fresh squeezed juices. Instead, they had six big commercial machines offering a watered-down disgusting concentrate that would not even measure up to cheap drinks like Capri Sun. Absolutely disgusting and the one major point of critique. The staff is very courteous and friendly. During my visit it seemed at times that they were a bit overambitious, stopping by the table almost every two minutes to look for clearing some items. In this case, a bit less could be more. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
