"There were two Japanese well maintained gardens and stone paving hallway outside. They were beautiful and they made us feel very historical culture. "This is a traditional ryokan with onsen facilities, and we chose the half-board option. The kaiseki dinner was excellent—beautifully presented and far more food than anyone could realistically finish. Breakfast was also outstanding, with the choice of either a Japanese or Western-style meal. The resort is slightly removed from the main tourist area of Arashiyama, located across the river and close to one of the train stations, though not the most central lines. This does make it feel quieter, but also means a bit more travel if you're exploring the area. The staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. The onsen facilities were extremely relaxing and perfect after a full day of hiking. Overall, a classic ryokan experience with exceptional meals and hospitality."
