The Danna Langkawi - A Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World
10/10 Excellent
"We spent a week at the wonderful Danna to celebrate my husband’s 60th Birthday and we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. From arrival until departure, the accommodation, service, cleanliness, food & drink, ambience and attention-to-detail were exceptional. We received such a warm greeting on arrival including a shoulder massage. The Countess Suite had two balconies with amazing views over the pool, beach and harbour. The kitchen area had a minibar, Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary pods, replenished daily, numerous bottles of complimentary spring-water, a fruit bowl with fresh fruit and a cake stand which was restocked each afternoon with a mix of savoury and sweet treats freshly made in the kitchen. We travelled with hand luggage only, so we sent some clothing to the laundry while there and it was returned like it had been dry cleaned. My husband got some turmeric sauce on a blue linen polo shirt, and it came back like new. We also sent a white linen shirt that had lost its whiteness, and it came back like it was new. Huge kudos to the laundry staff there as the service is outstanding! I felt completely relaxed after my 90 mins spa experience. The pool is large so lovely to be able to swim full lengths and the loungers on the beach as so relaxing looking out towards the boats in the sea. All of the restaurants and bar serve amazing food and drinks and the service is second to none. This has to be the BEST hotel we have ever stayed in, we LOVED The Danna!"

Four Seasons Resort Langkawi
6/10 Okay
"I have been visiting Four Seasons Langkawi for the past five years and have stayed more than 10 times. It remains one of my favourite resorts, which is why I wanted to share some honest feedback. First, I would like to thank the team for their excellent hospitality. The staff were as warm, attentive and professional as ever, and the anniversary cake was a thoughtful touch that was greatly appreciated. This visit, however, was not quite as memorable as my previous stays. The room showed some signs of wear that I had not noticed before, and breakfast did not feel as strong as I remembered. While there was still a good selection available, I was surprised that roti canai was not offered daily. It may seem like a small detail, but it is something I have always associated with Malaysian hospitality and with this resort in particular. I was also surprised by the RM700 per night deposit requirement. For guests staying longer periods, the amount can become quite substantial. One additional area that may benefit from some attention is pest control. Given the resort's beautiful natural surroundings, I understand that this can be challenging, but I noticed it more during this visit than on previous stays. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning in the future. I hope these comments are received as feedback from a loyal guest who has always held this resort in very high regard."

Aloft by Marriott Langkawi Pantai Tengah
10/10 Excellent
"First room, the aircon was not working But they changed the room for us."

Holiday Villa Resort & Beachclub Langkawi
10/10 Excellent
"The resort is an older property that would benefit from a little updating. Having said that , it did not detract from an excellent stay, exceptionally helpful staff, an amazing breakfast buffet and a location that was perfect. Sunset from our balcony was a special moment. We only eat in the resort one evening and were pleased with the variety of options. However, as with all resorts, food is more expensive that local restaurants. We used the pool by the glass bar so as to avoid the children in the main pool. All in all recommended."

The Bayou Hotel Langkawi
10/10 Excellent
"The staff were absolutely wonderful, the breakfast is really good with plenty of options. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived but we got a drink voucher which was lovely while we waited."

The RIYAZ Lavanya
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at both the Tanjung Rhu resort in the north and the Riyaz Lavanya. We are a family of 3. This hotel had a very spacious 2 bedroom unit with washer. It was located near restaurants and the beach. Only downside was the lack of a view from our room and this is a busier side of town. The hotel staff were wonderful and the rooms were newer and very clean. The only reason we wouldn’t stay here again is because we enjoyed the north side of Langkawi more than the south side. The hotel itself was wonderful."

Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi
8/10 Good
"The resort was beautiful, beach and pools were good and plenty of comfortable sun-loungers and fresh towels. Breakfast was good with a vast array of cuisines to please the many cultures staying at the hotel. Location was perfect for a beach still into town. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. We had a sea view room with balcony. However, the downside was that you could hear what was going on in the rooms above and to the sides of ours. General noise (children crying, prayer time, moving around) we could cope with but we had two nights of being kept awake by inconsiderate neighbours above us who were banging doors and cupboards and arguing, so much so we rang reception at midnight to complain. Nothing was done unfortunately until we raised it with the duty manager again the following day and we moved rooms. It did taint our experience as we were hoping for a relaxing stay and it was the most expensive hotel of our trip. The staff were helpful however and as the buildings are wooden, you are going to get some noise but this was beyond acceptable. So I would say you are at the mercy of your neighbours to a certain extent."
