The staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival. I was allocated a good size double room on the 9th floor overlooking the castle. The room has basic amenities, but it was perfect for a short city break. Housekeeping were making the bed and took out the rubbish every day, which was amazing as the room was kept clean for the duration of my stay.
The hotel is in a very central location (Liberdade- nearest Metro stations are Avenidas and Rato). Marque de Pompal and Restauradores are at walkable distance, which is very convenient as this is where the majority of tours and day trips start from. There is also a big Continente nearby where you can buy water and other everyday essentials.
Despite being so centrally located I felt safe walking around the area on my own, even in the late hours, so I would recommend this hotel both in terms of convenience and safety.
