Black Boy Inn

8/10 Good

"The hotel infrastructure and staff were excellent. Clearly much thought was given to the history of the ancient establishment and the artwork in the various public areas was impressive. The only let-down was the catering. The food was adequate but hardly memorable and the pre-paid breakfast - £15 - wasn’t really up to much. The promise of a tasty Egg Royale didn’t deliver. However, I would stay there again and the hotel deserves its good reputation; hopefully we were just unlucky with the catering during our visit. All credit to the staff though."

Celtic Royal Hotel & Spa

"Nice hotel very close to the walled town and castle. Nice spa area, no treatments but a swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Breakfast was good, and the evening meal in the restaurant was pleasant but on the pricey side (nice restaurants within 10 minutes walk though). The room was pleasant, but the bathroom was laid out for disabled guest, meaning that the sinks were wheelchair user height and therefore, as we aren't, involved having to bend over while you used it. Most staff were friendly and helpful, but some seemed quite inexperienced. Would happily stay again. Annoyingly, because I booked the hotel through hotels.com they charged £20 extra to park my car, it would have been free if we'd booked directly."

Barmouth Bay Holiday Park

10/10 Excellent

"The caravan was beautiful and very well equipped. We had a lovely view of fields with sheep in and mountains in the distance. It was in a perfect location only a 3 minute walk to the beach. The children made use of the play park and the swimming pool. It was a short drive into the centre of Barmouth. A lovely stay."
