  • The beautiful tiger at the Luray Rescue Zoo. This zoo holds animals that are unable to be cared for any more or should never have become House pets to begin with. The man that owns the place was born and raised in an animal loving family and his respect and love for the animals show through his interactions and knowledge. You can schedule a behind the scenes tour of the zoo if you call ahead. During this tour I was able to pet a porcupine, feeds goats, feed bananas to a lemur, and feed the tiger pictured. I got to the hotel at 7 pm and no one was in the office. I called the number on the door and it sounded as though who answered had just woken up. The man said someone would be right over. After 15 min no one had shown up. I had bought dinner to eat in my room. I ended up having to eat in my car waiting so my food wasn’t completely cold. I called again and no one answered. I called a 3 rd time and a woman answered and said someone should be there shortly. A woman finally showed up and apologized for taking so long. It took me 25 min to get into my room from the time I arrived at the location. NOT HAPPY

There was no breakfast and none was advertised. I was happy with the price and the quality of the room.. it’s a very non-busy time so you have to call a phone number and get someone to the front desk but someone was there immediately. No big deal very friendly.

There was an empty box of tampons behind the bathroom door, and the sheets had many, many stains. The room felt quickly cleaned as there was (what I hope) is beard hair behind the sink. It’s located conveniently in town next to an Italian restaurant which was good. But the room itself didn’t give off cleanliness.

I don’t want just complain because I feel like that’s inappropriate, the location was excellent in the staff wasn’t horrible. An extra large cockroach came out to visit us the first night, he was swiftly extinguished. After the second one came out on our second day, we decided to pack up and leave

The town is very charming. Parking was convenient, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Restaurants were within easy walking distance. The building is quite old, which added some character, but the walls were thin, hallway lighting harsh even with blackout curtains, and the bathroom and beds were not very clean. Unfortunately, there were also many bugs in the room.

Room was ok. Black mold on the shower head though and definitely could use a good cleaning in the bathroom. Some places in the room were visibly dirty, but it was an okay stay for two nights. Bed was comfortable. Staff was pleasant.

We had a man come in our room unannounced. He used a key. My daughter was standing with only a towel on. He was given our room number to spray for bugs. He didn’t knock or anything. Not only is this unsafe, I also have to wonder what kind of bugs he was spraying for.

The photos and description of this establishment were very deceiving. Please be aware that this is a MOTEL. You can tell that upgrades were completed on the room, however, quality control was lacking. Only 3 of the 4 lightbulbs over the bathroom mirror worked, the towel bar had been ripped off the wall and never replaced, the shower head was falling out of the wall, and dust in the room was so thick you could write in it. Additionally, the walls were paper thin, so be prepared to hear EVERYTHING that's going on with your neighbors.

The room was updated but there were certain designs that didn’t make sense, including an outlet below the light fixture that doesn't have enough clearance to plug in phone chaegers. The lady who checked us in was not friendly at all. The plus was the clean room and its close proximity to the historical downtown.

Non fussy room. The ability to park directly in front of my room was much appreciated. Simple breakfast options, run six to $10. Wonderful service and the water is pretty darn good too.
