This hotel is directly across from the Academy Center of the Arts, so the location was perfect. The hotel is in need of renovation. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

Knew we were booking a 3-star motel and it's that. Bathrooms were clean, staff very nice and helpful. Negatives were wifi didn't work in our room (too far away), only one floor had working ice machine. Great location for walking down Main St. and to river area. Had a decent workout room. Pool was not filled (Oct. stay, so not a problem). Price was good so even with my issues, I'd consider staying there again.

Great location, but the building is delapidated and the lobby and room smelled--maybe it was the VERY old carpet. Just very unkempt building and as we left, we noticed the room across from ours had a hand-installed steel flap with a dial lock clamped on it. Creepy. Tripped on the torn hallway rug that led to the elevator buttons that wouldn't light or chime. Unfortunate.

Carpets in the hallway were stained. Outdoor pool was empty and filled with dirty rain water. It looked disgusting. Maybe cover it for the winter. The “gym” was dark with only two working lights and terrible equipment. The were a pair of dirty socks from the previous guest on the desk chair in the room No maid service to make up the room or bring fresh towels. Something they really should disclose at check in. One vending machine for snacks or drink. At best this is a one star hotel.

This property could be a great place to stay, both location and the historic vibe it gives. It honestly just needs some upgrades and it could be one of the best in Lynchburg. It looks like someone has just recently begun doing a few things to update and make it a great place. Carpet in the room I was in needs to be replaced. The entire hotel had an “old smell” to it that rivals my grandmother’s house but it was even worse in my room. The hotel was clean though. The elevators have wood walls, which is almost obsolete. I would definitely try to keep that vibe but they need some reconditioning or something to make them look better kept. Lobby could use more decor and it just doesn’t have a “welcome” vibe to it. Lastly, the lighting rivals that of an old hotel or saloon you would see in an old western movie, almost like candles or gas lights were giving it just enough light to see but not enough to make you feel comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and I would love to see some improvements made on this place. It could be beautiful. The person that checked me in wasn’t rude but I didn’t really feel welcome by them. They could work on some customer service skills.

The staff was excellent in addressing our concerns and helping our stay to be comfortable and relaxing. I would stay here again for a longer time period.

The lobby was very nice but the rooms were very tired. Clean but old, hallways need new carpet and wall paper. The parking was good in the parking garage next to the hotel.
