Dirty sheets, dirty spabath that smelt on urine and no plug for the bath so couldnt even use it even if i cleaned it myself. No ability to lock the door from the inside, if you have little children i wouldnt recomend. Was a terrible stay.

Disappointed with our stay at Melbourne City Suites. We booked for 7 people, and when we arrived there was only bedding for 6 people. When we questioned this at reception they acknowledged that the "room rate was for 7 people" but it would be an extra fee for a rollaway bed. Additionally, I opted for the 'self-check in' in which you are supposed to be sent an email with instructions the day prior. I never received the email, and on the morning of check in, called reception to ask them to resend it, to which they said they would, but again it never came through. Checking in was extremely clunky- Melbourne City Suites operate out of a hotel room within the facilities of another hotel, the reception is in a hotel room on the 8th floor, and was a slow process. There were 4 people in front of us and we were waiting in line for approx 30 minutes. Parking was also an issue. I called prior to booking to booking about the parking situation as it was important for us to book somewhere with parking. They stated they had a car park and to provide the vehicles registration and they will reserve a car park. Upon arrival, the car park (a public car park) was full. I was very fortunate to wait until someone left and I was able to get a park. I just found that saying a 'car park was reserved' for us was extremely misleading. Also, the overnight fee was cheaper than the hotel car park fee, which we had already paid for. Overall the customer service was very disappointing.

Sadly the standard of cleanliness was well below acceptable. We had to make four requests for Nespresso coffee capsules before any arrived. The reception staff were pleasant but communications within the hotel were poor. The hotel insists that guests wash dishes upon departure (no dishwasher) consequently we found our dishes next to the rubbish bin under the sink and had to wash them before using. Disappointing.

Booked for 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids). Was allocated a 4 bed room, but that's fine because we booked and paid for the extra kid. Reception advertised as open till 8 on Friday, got there before 7, it was shut. Had to "renew" my deposit? before they'd give me access to the room. Room had 2 queen beds, no extra one, no fold out couch. Was told i could have another bed if i paid for it - the extra I'd already paid is apparently just to let the person in the room?? Was told you have to specify if you're booking a room for 5 that you want everyone to have a place to sleep?! They couldn't provide us with the extra bed because no one was on site, my son had to sleep on the floor. Extra bed was supposed to be there at 9am the next morning, we got sick of waiting and went out at 10am. Got back, bed was there, no pillow, no towel. Horrific. And that's not even going into the fire alarm going off for 30 mins in the middle of the night. Never again.

The room was very dark - there was a window out on to an alley and it was in the bedroom but other than that there were no windows. The booking said that parking was available which is why we chose this accommodation but when we arrived, we were asked if we had reserved parking - the booking does not indicate that it had to be reserved. The desk staff was helpful and found us a parking spot a few blocks away but expected us to walk back from there (in the rain) with our luggage. Clarity in the booking would have helped. She then suggested that that we could pull up in front of the building - a no parking zone - and drop the luggage off . I said i was not going to leave the luggage on the sidewalk in the rain and come back for it - she was kind enough to take it up to our room for us .. but really a little more staff support would have been helpful.
