"Excellent place to stay. They have different buildings and I was lucky enough to be in the one right above the ocean. Great views and fairly easy access to the beach. Breakfast was rudimentary, fruit, yogurt, cold cereal and single-packaged breakfast burritos and bagels."
"This hotel utilizes illegal, deceptive fees. They were going to charge me an "amenities fee" when I checked in, without telling me, after the room had already been paid for.
They sent me a link to fill out their "Registration Card" where they wanted photos of my ID, credit card info, and to sign their policies (no mention of any required amenities fees). There's no front desk staff on site - had to call their main office in San Diego and they were very unhelpful and misleading. When I called, the woman on the phone said I had an open balance (I hadn't even checked in), and that was why they needed my card number, otherwise I would've had no idea. I asked the company for a copy of their policies, and surprise, there is no required "amenities fees" anywhere in them. No one could tell me how they calculate it. Staff tried to tell me the amenities fee was part of the taxes... obviously incorrect. No where did it outline the amount of the amenities fee in writing, so I wouldn't have known about that charge until after they ran my card without approval. They also refused to give me access to the room when I asked if I could give my card info over the phone, instead of through this weird link.
Their only advertised amenities are “free” wifi and parking, certainly nothing to write home about, but want to charge extra when you show up.
Shady company, don't book here
I've reported them to the FTC, clearly goes against the Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees, 16 C.F.R. Part 464"
"Very small rooms. Obviously they’ve been smoked in before. It’s that old stale smell you can’t get rid of. Terrible job caulking around the tub and music trim. No quality craftsmanship."
"Easy parking, nice rooms, friendly staff.
Park and walk across the street you're in Old Town. Nice Shops, good restaurants. The Irish Pub was amazing. Friendly waitress, good food!"
