"Still one of my favorite hotels while staying in downtown Detroit. I have always loved the setup of the Atheneum Hotel. However the hotel is showing signs of aging.
The bathroom need a new vanity with 2 sinks, a shower perhaps and updated lighting with the light switch inside the bathroom, The bathroom looks a bit sparse.
Need better window treatments (incorporate shades perhaps), lighting, better light switch locations.
The entrance sitting area needs elevated furniture and materials.
The stairs needs better lighting or a light for EACH stair. At night while the room was dark I kept stumbling down the stairs because of poor lighting.
Also, I believe the hotel rooms should revert the room walls back to the exposed concrete.
Last but not lease, The small TV and the connectivity/streaming software is outdated and embarrassing. Instead of watching tv together we decided just to look at content on our phone, and the ppv movies were too expensive."
