We stayed 3 nights in the Settlers Homestead and the view was beautiful. In retrospect, I should have booked a 4th.

Beautiful stay!

wow what a place. The view of Snelling Beach was amazing. The house is modern with all the amenities. We did some laundry and made pizzas for dinner. We saw kangaroos off the patio and everywhere. There are views from every room! Really nice place.

Romantic & secluded luxury

A great romantic escape on top of a hill overlooking a beautiful beach in a secluded location. You're right away from the action in Snelling Beach but worth the short drive. Hannaford & Sachs restaurant is superb but the only place for miles so be self sufficient or have dinner before arriving.

Very relaxing and comfortable for a long weekend

A wonderful long weekend with the kids. It's a long drive from everything, but this made the experience very relaxing. The stock of fire wood was really appreciated. Probably one of the best accommodation options on the island.

Exzellent -

Das Haus auf den Felsen mit diesem Ausblick ist einfach traumhaft. Wir bekamen alle wichtigen Details zur Anreise vorab per email. Also von der Fähre erstmal nach Kingscote in den Supermarkt und dann fuhren wir zum Haus. Die gesamte Einrichtung läßt keine Wünsche offen. Abends haben wir auf der Terrasse gegrillt und genossen vom Jakuzzi den Sternenhimmel. Leider waren wir nur 3 Tage auf Kangaroo Island und hatten wegen unserer Ausflüge viel zu wenig Zeit um das Haus zu genießen. Also werden wir sicher wiederkommen!.

Fabulouce place

Wonderful accomodation with incredible views. The atmosphere, location and facilities were great. We really liked the Sky House. It was amazing. But one thing. If you don't care about bugs, this might be no problem. We were troubled with a lot of millipedes invading the house. I don't know whether it was a seasonal phenomenon, but looking at them everywhere on the floor and walls inside the house was kind of gross. We removed them many times, but they came in again one after the other. Except that, the Sky House was a flawlessly perfect place to stay. Please improve the problem. We would really like to go back again. 景色が良い立地で、家の中も素晴らしく心地いい空間、ゴージャスな気分を味わえると同時に、すごくリラックスできるアコモデーションです。野生のカンガルーもいますし、ふと窓から見える美しい風景、変わりゆく夕方の空の色、それはそれは美しく心を安らげて、豊かにしてくれます。 ただ一点、季節的なものかもしれないのですが、大量のヤスデが建物の外に、そして家の中に出ました。部屋の床や壁に出没...取っても取っても入ってきて、その点では気持ち良くはなくリラックスできませんが、虫が気にならない方なら問題ないでしょう。私たちの直前に泊まった方々のコメントには一切その点に触れたものはないので、海外の方はあまり気にならないのかもしれないですが、日本人にはどうかと思います。かなり気持ち悪かったです。 虫の侵入の点が改善されれば、非の打ちどころのない素晴らしいアコモデーションで、また泊まりたいです。

Amazing house, amazing views

We had the most wonderful stay in Sky House. It is so peaceful and relaxing with fab facilities. We had kangaroos wandering past the windows which was amazing and the view of the island and the ocean is incredible! A perfect start to our honeymoon!

Perfect KI Coastal Retreat

So relaxed after a wonderful few days at the Sky House - perfect place to be to watch the once in 50 year Storm roll in! Higlights: spectacular coastal views; lovely styling; cracking fireplace; sublime bath; super comfy bed; amazing selection of books, movies, boardgames and records. Hannaford and Sach's restaurant nearby was closed unfortunately but the Sky House kitchen was well equipped and the fresh KI King George whiting and oysters we bought were delicious. Nick was very helpful - even organising candles and torch in case we lost power in the Storm!

Cliff House, Kangaroo Island

This place is on a cliff over looking a fabulous bay - incredible views. The house is quirky and a fabulous place to stay to unwind. Would highly recommend but I would advise, fill up with fuel if driving in Kingscote as well as food as this place is 45 kilometres from there and this is the only place close for fuel and provisions. There are steps to th fabulous beach, and incredible sunsets to sit n the terrace and watch. We did have to clean out the jacuzzi though - but this once done was overlooking the beach and fabulous views.

Ein wahres Sky House! Dem Himmel ganz nah!

die life time private retreats sind kein Hotel sondern bestehen aus einzelnen Häusern, iin denen man sich selber versorgen kann. Ich hatte das Sky house und war sehr zufrieden. Die Lage ist toll ( man muss Einsamkeit mögen) , das Haus war wunderschön. Es fehlte ein klein bisschen an der optimalen Sauberkeit, z.b. Der Mülleimer schaute nicht sehr appetitlich aus) . Ich hätte auch gerne ein bisschen mehr Licht in der Küche gehabt ( Beleuchtung ist sehr romantisch) aber das waren Kleinigkeiten. Ich fand es wunderschön und würde jederzeit wieder kommen.

Beautiful spot on a beautiful island

Fantastic place to stay near the beach on Kangaroo Island. We were in SheOaks, 2 people in a house for 7. Other houses can be further away from the beach so check. The food was excellent, but the house is very remote and we hadn't booked a full catering package (my fault). The backup after 6 at the local pub was a good humoured but not to the same standard! Highly recommended.

long weekend

There was a double up with our booking and so we had to move rooms half way through our stay, but despite this we had a fantastic stay. The houses were fantastic the location was excellent, the view was outstanding and the staff were very friendly and did everything they could to minimise the disruption to our stay. A fantastic place to stay and wonderful people to deal with.
