"Let's start with downsides: it advertises noise issues. The walls ARE thin and loud conversations in the halls or adjoining rooms do leak, but they let you know this is an issue. Other than that, it is just as they advertise.
On the plus sides, my room was small, but it was just fine for me. Space enough for my clothes and what I needed. A sink in the room was perfect. Shelves and hangers were great and gave flexibility. I opted for the bathroom down the hallway to save money, and that was fine. They were clean and only once did I have to wait just five minutes to use it. Otherwise, they were vacant each time I needed to go to the toilet.
Having a cafe downstairs was very, very convenient first thing for coffee and yogurt.
The location near the subway was also perfect (although the city was doing maintenance and that stop was closed for part of the time I was there). It is a close walk to Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Carnegie Hall (30 minutes), and a mere short subway ride to all points around. A great location, good service, comfortable, and affordable (no small thing in Manhattan). I highly recommend this place."
